MAL: [Still not getting response from Book over intercom, leaves Engine Room and heads for the Bridge] Says to Kaylee:"I'm gonna have to get back to you on the upgrades idea, but why don't ya think on it a spell and share your thoughts with me at chow time!" [Exits Engine Room, walking down corridor towards Bridge quickly. Enters Bridge and sees Book at control console as well as River] Says to Book:"Shep', you look a little uneasy. Was it bad news? Did God fire you, send you your walking papers over the Cortex? Inquiring minds want to know!" END TURN.

Book turns his head around and motions Mal to come forward. He steps away from the video monitor and gives Mal a clear view of Nishka's smiling face and Early's very stern one.
Book to Mal
"The audio is disabled at the moment, Captain. But we need to get Wash up here or someone needs to learn to fly this ship, because we're gonna meet up with some folks we don't want to before too long."

Book steps up to the monitor again and switches back on the audio.

Succatash=Jubal Early
Jubal Early's voice can suddenly be heard.
"Well, here I am. Y'all left me floating in the black, until the Reavers picked me up. They did all manner of experiments to my anal cavity before I managed to escape. Does that seem right to you?"
Early smiles and raises a little rubber ball. He asks, "Do you know what this is?"
Book looks horrified and appears to recognize the object.

Book quickly flips off the audio again.
Book to Mal
"Captain, I know you recognize that rubber ball as well as I do. That's River's ball. (beat) He's been on the ship again..."
Book gives Mal a meaningful look, then turns back to the monitor and flips the audio back on.

Early is still talking:
"A ball... in space... doesn't bounce. Does it still serve a purpose?"
Book groans and the Captain rolls his eyes.

MAL: [Concerned look on his face now, moves next to Book and looks into monitor] Says aloud:"Son of a Bitch! [Turns on audio] Says to Niska:"Niska, how're things in the world? No hard feelings, right? Oh wait a sec. I still owe you an ear now don't I? Maybe I'll stop by and see you again!" Says to Early:"Nice to see you again. I figured the last time I saw you would be the LAST time I saw you! What with you floating off into the 'verse an all. How did that work out for you anyhow? Able to hold your breath quite a spell were you?" [Turns off audio and turns to Book] Says to Book:"Shep' would ya be good enough to wake Wash up and bring him up to speed?" [Looks at River] Says to River:"Ya surely do have a penchant for understatement mei mei. How do ya suppose that bounty hunter survived? I thought we fixed him six ways from Sunday!" END TURN.
ooc:Sorry for not mentioning the ball. Thought the reavers gave it to Early as a concillation prize after anal exams!

PublicRelations-I thought Serenityson was playing as Jayne by my last accounting. But haven't heard from him on this thread in a while. Don't know if he's still interested in playing or not.
