Y'know, I've contemplated the ZAYNE dynamic. In the SERENITY novelization, there's something in there (can't remember the exact wording) from Jayne's point of view about how he'd like to hook up with Zoe. He certainly flirts a lot with her, and that might also be behind his constant needling of Wash throughout the series.

Does anyone else think Zoe would hook up with Jayne? Or maybe that's a topic for another thread...

I wrote that fanfiction as part of my Collection. It's here in the Blue Sun room as well as over at Adultfanfiction.net.

The whole goal of the Collection is to figure a way to make every possible pairing happen in some sort of believable manner. It ain't easy. (Why did I decide to do that again?)

OK, first of all, a pair "dark blue underpants" are being sold with Jayne's Miranda/Reaver battle costume at propstore.com ... so, we know he does have drawers.

And I have to admit that I've studied the man's crotch region a mite intently

and while I do agree that the character of Jayne probably would freeball it (is that considered an inappropriate term? will I get kicked off the boards?), I seriously doubt Adam Baldwin actually did.

Since you asked, though, if I could not be his underwear, I supposed I'd like to be his pants. Or one of his shirts. Or Vera. Is "bang, bang" considered a speaking part?

I really don't see that happening. Jayne may have a slight interest, but I don't think Zoe would be interested even remotely in that kind of relationship with Jayne (not to mention the fact that Jayne is probably more than a little afraid of her). Zoe is a hard character to pair with anyone besides Wash, due to the fact that she's so guarded. The only character that might work in my opinion is Mal, and that a really, really big if. If the show had continued perhaps, and we saw more into Zoe's character, maybe it would be easier to pair her with other characters. Course, this is only my opinion.
