I think that was the ONE thing TheRightStuff was, er... right about- these photos look like junk from a movie or staged performance of some kind, too well lit and arts-y for normal unprofessional shots...

Probably a college re-enactment of a Pagan ritual, with a photographer capturing the performance.

true, but there is also no evidence to suggest that they werent the authors either. if it were written by anonymous authors, they would have chosen more prominant names, such as the NT pseudpigrapha, rather then servants of the diciples. given the nature of the accounts, even liberal scholars dont dispute that they were atleast written before the turn of the 1st century. and there are scriptures and creeds from Paul that date back to immediately after Jesus death. so considering that their were still living witnesses, who would testify to Jesus' lifestyle, the room for legend to creep in was reletively non-existant. i mean you really ought to consider what the scholars have uncovered...its not as if these issues have never been raised with believers before! someone dedicating their life to something generally covers all their bases so as to be sure that they are not wasting their time and accepting a fallacy.

if i may recommend a book a read just recently, called "The Case for Christ", written by investigative journalist Lee Strobel, he probes with lawyer like scutiny over the evidence for Jesus', and seems to prove, using current known data, without a shadow of a doubt, that the NT is as it claims. i ask that you skeptics spend 10 bucks, and take a few days to learn what Christians are basing their faith on, because these are not new issues that are being raised. no true Christian in his right mind would overlook an seeming inconsistency that would undermine his faith...its the fact that we have sufficient evidence to remain firmly rooted that is so extraordinary
