Tattoo art on Firefly

I keep finding interesting tattoos throughout the episodes, so I think I'll be taking a closer look to find out what they are. If anyone knows where I can find more, do tell please!

Serentiy - at the beginning of the crowd scene on Presephony, we see an asian woman with Chinese characters tattooed under her left eye.

Out of Gas - Bextor (?) the original mechanic has many tattoos of obvious Egyptian influence.

Train Job - Crow's extensive facial tattoos. I wonder if they're based off aborigional North American art?

Ariel - Jayne has a colourful tattoo on his left shoulder.

Trash - Mal has a tattoo on his right hip. It looks like there are some numbers there, too.

I'll be looking for more later. Wouldn't it be great if we could contact some of the design staff of Firefly and get some T-shirt decals and tattoos posted here?

In The Message you can see one on Kaylee's back when Tracey is holding her hostage. Tracey also has a tat that very visible in the infirmary scene.

Damn. Guess I'll have to get that Celtic knot on the small of my back that I've been considering. LOL.

I've also been kicking around the idea of getting a tattoo of a zipper on my scar. It's almost a foot long, and wraps around my shoulder blade on the side. (Surgery when I was 18.)

Firefly is a bad...er...good....er...some kind of influence. Heh.

Good luck with that zipper..neat idea. My tattoo is in the middle of my back and I didn't think it hurt at all, so the shoulder shouldn't be a problem either.

How about a nice Firefly tattoo? :) That's dedication, baby.

In Jaynetown, one of the mudders, tall strong guy, had a blue chinese tattoo on his shoulder. It might have been Blue Sun, but it was too far away to tell. It's right at the beginning of the Jayne Day Celebration.
