American Idol runner-up possibly Joss's pick for 'Wonder Woman'

As a writer of internet articles for American Idol, I always keep my eyes peeled for all news concerning it and the contestant's paths after they leave. I just read that Joss has contacted Katharine McPhee's (22 years old) people about the starring role in Wonder Woman. There are no real details but if you ever saw Katharine, you can see why she would be picked.

She has already done one film called "Crazy" that should be coming out this simmer. It is an Independant film but Katharine does have a credited role as "The Paramount Girl". Even though Katharine sang her way to the runner-up spot on Idol and is doing an album, acting is her first love. I'm not sure if Katharine would take the job or even if she can pass the screen test, but if Joss really considers her a potential canidate, he needs to move fast becuase Steven Speilburg is already hot on her trail.

You don't go on American Idol if you want a film career, you go on to get people to notice you without the hastle of having any talent.

Ok, snark over. I'll believe it when JOSS confirms it. As for Steven he needs fresh blood like he needs new ideas... not sure where to go with that.

I was hoping I wouldn't get Idol slammers on this comment but alas.... When I write my columns for Idol I always try to interject some Firefly vernacular to win some Firefly fans and it has worked to some extent. I had one person email me to thank me for recommending Firefly in my article. We can add at least one more Browncoat to the fold. And the one thing we Browncoats could use is some of that audience. If Firefly had the fortune to come on at the same time as Idol and follow it, we would still be watching it every week instead of dreaming about just the possibility.

And as far as talent goes quit being a whiner about Idol. You don't outsell Bruce Springsteen and Mariah Carey if you don't have talent and that's exactly what has happened this year with the Idol tour.

Perhaps if your post wasn't just repeating a rumor that only the Idol PR machine seems to have heard there would be a little less hostility to it. As it is however this has to be filed under self serving rumormongering. Hey maybe we are doing the woman a diservice, maybe she does have some wicked acting chops. Being runner up on American Idol is not however evidence of same.

Edit: Look I'm thinking this is perhaps a bit harsh. For that I appologize. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time casting this in a way that isn't coming out harsh so I'll just leave it as is.

Do you disagree that the tour outsold Bruce and Mariah or that Bruce and Mariah have no talent? Because one is a fact and the other would be and opinion

Also I just heard From Katharine's mom. Katharine is having her meeting with Spielberg this week but she could not confirm the "Wonder Woman" thing. Also Kat is a Firefly fan.
