Well, boys and girls, I see by the old caesium-beam atomic clock on the bunkhouse wall that we’re rolling up to 6/6/06 and I haven’t heard much noise from the End-of-the-Worlders or the multitudes of Fuzzy-Wuzzys about the big day. So, with a bit of hesitation, I want to open this can of worms for discussion, debate or full scale sermonizing.

Here is your chance to throw down. Whichever branch of the great religious tree you swing from – be it: Christianity; Islam; Secular/Agnostic/Atheist; Hinduism; Buddhism; Primal-Indigenous; Sikhism; Spiritism; Judaism; Baha’i; Jainism; Shinto; Cao Dai; Zoroastrianism; Neo-Paganism; Unitarian-Universalism; Rastafarianism; Scientology; Followers of the Shoe….. or any newly coined ‘isms’ of the day. I want to hear your predictions on Tuesday’s ominous numerical meaning. Will there be a rain of toads, crack of doom, Glorious rejoicing, or simply stale pizza for breakfast..

About the only thing that I am fairly sure of is that there will almost certainly be a huge paper jam in the first floor copying machine. I think it is possessed by a chaos demon…possibly Grah-Hoth or even the Anti-Christ himself. I intend to keep an eye on this un-holy machine and have a pointy stick on hand just in case.

So, fire away – play nice and always remember to respect one another’s vague, superstitious beliefs no matter how ridiculous they may seem.

EDIT: 6/6/06... so far, so good... i did count 6 dead armadillos within a 6 mile stretch of highway before 6 am this morning...
eerie... but fairly normal for texas....

Hmm. Not really too much to say. My beliefs don't lean towards worrying about a human-created stamp for a temporal phenomenon...basically, it will be another random Tuesday for me. Might go see Omen though. And I will be partying with the Forsaken in our thread.

Since I never really credited the calender with any kind of meaning, I have to say I don't think anything will happen. "The Omen" will come out and people who are freaked out about that kind of thing will see the movie and be scared, and the world will keep moving on its course. Not to mention I never really credited the bible with much more than symbolic meaning. There's no Satan outside of our own selves, which means, well, no Satan can show up to rain hellfire on us. Unless we personally decide to sit in the dark and twitch on the Day of the Beast, there will be no misery. (Why is 666 the Number of the Beast, anyway?)
I too am surprised that the End-of-the-Worlders haven't been making a fuss. Shocked, even.

Having watched "pi" (great film), the Hebrew alphabet is associated with numbers. (Kabbalah) Could 666 spell something?

It might be argued by some that 666 must be applied to one man's name, and that this will then help identify him as the antichrist. I would offer the following verse to show that 666 need not apply solely to a man's name:

Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The same Greek word translated as name (onoma: G3686) that appears in Revelation 13:17-18 is also used in chapter 19:16, so clearly the word can also apply to a title, and not just one man's name.....
