I've considered the bluehand thing, but wearing a suit all day at a con sounds, well, uncomfortable. I still may do it, though. I plan to have a pirate outfit and firefly themed outfit (bluehand or maybe jayne). Oh, and of course a Serenitree shirt ;)

Hi folks, I need your feedback on something. (Apparently this week, I'm earning my Junior Market Researcher badge.)
One of my invasion force is also running a panel or two in the Art Show, and possibly exhibiting and selling. In terms of quilted items, she's wondering what people would prefer to buy: bed-size quilts, or throws. She's planning on doing some sci-fi-themed designs, or using space-themed fabrics and colorschemes. For those who have bought blanket-like items at conventions before, or thought about buying such - would you be more likely to purchase one size or the other? If so, why?

Here's a little bit of cross posting.
"For those of you interested in marching with your fellow Browncoats in the parade or entering the costume contest this year at Dragon Con, this information is for you! In order to pre-register for the parade so we can inform the convention of how many people will be in our group, send an e-mail to
sebcparade AT gmail DOT com and include the information listed below:
* Full Name
* Username
* E-Mail Address
* Costume you will wear in the parade (or simply "Original Design" if it is not a character-based costume)
* Whether you plan to march in the parade, enter the costume contest, or both
At the moment we don't have a solid location for the costume contest, but it is slated to take place after the parade. Once there is a more definite time and place, or any other details have been decided on about the events, such as prizes for the contest, e-mails will go out to the address you pre-registered with. For more information check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/southeasternbrowncoats/
and http://community.livejournal.com/sebc/profile
Any further questions regarding the parade/costume contest can be sent to
sebcparade AT gmail DOT com"
Thanks!

Grrrr,
I'm flying in this year, so no room for costumes (I only do carry-on). Besides, they'd probably confiscate my Zoe gun even though it's all wood!
I aim to misbehave!

Totally understand about carry-on, makes life so much easier. It's a damn shame though, you have a great costume.
You could always ship your costume to someone nearby and then ship it back to yourself. If you were all rich like. Not that I'm trying to get a bunch of great costumes in the parade again this year, or anything

I could actually do that, WW, since I'm going to be staying with a friend before and after the con. Good idea, cause I did love being in the parade
I'll have to see what it would cost.
I can't wait to see if the Done the Impossible DVD has any footage on the parade
See everyone in a few more months.
I aim to misbehave!

Just out of curiosity, how many troopers does the 501st have?
Holding until you get back, Captain.

They usually have a hundred or two, give or take, at D*C. But they are a huge worldwide organization. I'm not sure how many members they have, total. It wouldn't surprise me if it is in the thousands.
