..WASH'S MOVE

"Huh??"

Rushing back in tow with Mal, Wash is shaking his head at how fast everything just transpired and that apparently he missed everything. Then realizes that he must have had a fit of narcolepsy while Badger & Mal were talking and completely missed everything, cuz he fell asleep standing up. Wash decides not to let Mal in on this since in his slumber Mal appears to believe Wash was acting brave and unflinchable. Thank God I can sleep with my eyes open, Wash thinks to himself.

"Uh yeah. That's dah bien-hwa! Badger givin' us big damn money for runnin guns to the rim. Tai-kong suo-yo duh shing-chiou sai-jin wuh duh pee-goo!"

Wash rushes back to Serenity, heads for the bridge and gets ready to take them out of the world.

..END MOVE

{Also, if I may, if you plan to write this out as a sceenplay or novella, it would be good to identfy and standardize the way we do this.

For example you may notice I am using 'editors' brackets on this post - because this is not in gameplay, more of an editorial.

In other online RPs I have played, they use the standard brackets for actions. Such as - [pulls his pistol and checks the mag]. OR using the astericks - *Turns and snaches the hypo off the table and injects Book in the neck*

Just depends on what the person who is transcripting the RP feels comfortable with.

Also, if there are RPs going on in other threads, should we change the title of this thread to a 'Episode Title' (based on the scenario, of course) of some sort?}

OOC (out of character):

We can keep playing. At this point Wash is taking the ship out of the world and plotting a course to some planet based on coordinates we can assume Mal gave to him. So it'll take at least a day to get where their going. When they get their the plan will be to pick up the weapons and then smuggle them to the outer rim. As Kaylee might say, "easy as lyin'."

So in the meantime any players who still wanna roleplay on board the ship as we wait to arrive there can do so. We don't have to actually arrive at said location until we get more of a complement of crew puppet-master wise. Things don't have to move this quickly. The show's always more interesting when the focus is on character interaction anyhow. We can blow stuff up later.

So can we surmise that both River and Malcolm are turning in for the night, and we'll just say anyone not active is getting rest in their bunk? Would that work for everyone?

Cap'n, it's fine. We understand. I italicise actions. There. My bit. If you don't mind, most are tired, and are going to sleep. We can discuss more tomorrow.

Pleasant dreams, keep flyin'.

Good suggestions, Rahn.. Are you playing Simon, by the way? I'm just trying to keep track. I do agree with you that we need to delineate between in character (ICly) and out of character (OOC) behavior. What I've been trying to do since the start is specify what I specifically intend to be Wash's move by notating it as such. Demonstrated below.

..WASH'S MOVE

Once on the bridge, Wash flicks three switches just above his right shoulder and gets to work.

..END MOVE

Each person's going to come up with their own style and we shouldn't require one specific style that everyone has to abide by. It would be helpful if each player made an effort to specify what's in character and what's out of character, but I'm hoping we have as few rules as possible for this. So it's less like work and more like fun.

{ZaksMind - Yep I am gonna take a crack at Simon.

I agree about as few rules as possible.

Coming in 'late' as it were, it was a bit diffcult to follow. Until I got most by context, so again I agree with you, to a degree.

Fun is good!

What about the Episode Title for Thread Header Idea?}

*calls to bridge on intercom*
We leaving? I have been in infirmary sorting out the supplies.

..WASH'S MOVE

From the bridge, Wash communicates to Simon on intercom, "Yeah Doc we're heading out again. Gimme a few minutes to plot the course and fight gravity's pull then maybe you can give me a pop for this pesky narcolepsy I've been suffering recently. I can meet you at the infirmary in a bit."

..END MOVE

OOC:
Episode title for thread header? Would that mean multiple threads? That'll further confuse the linear thread, wouldn't it? How might we keep all the threads straight? I'm not sayin' yay or nay cuz it's not my place but I just don't understand how that'd work without further confusing things.

We do admittedly need to perhaps retire this thread soon though cuz it's getting kinda long. Maybe if whoever starts the new thread somehow summarizes everything that's happened thus far? Like a "previously on Firefly" something or other?

How long have you noticed the symptoms? You know this could be gravely serious. I'll meet you in the Infirmary in 5.

{I ment for this adventure and these folks already playing certain characters. Make this thread an episode, so to speak.

I will bet that once this gets started, others would want to start their own 'adventures' to be able to play other characters.

In addition, I would think that the one who is transcriping and fleshing out the story should be the 'guide' AKA gamemaster/dungeonmaster et al.

As to long threads, I would use the Pt 1, Pt 2 method ... example Badgers Folly, Badgers Folly Pt 2 etc.

I DO like your idea of putting a 'previously on' in the first post of a continuation thread(s)}
