Superman? What are you doing in here?

SUPERMAN: A hooker made a crack about me being faster than a speeding bullet, and I snapped her in half.

So then, this might not be the right time for a "man of steel, hooker of kleenex" comment, hmm??

*the sound of a creaky wheel resounds down the passageway as the bun carts her portable fumarole along. the new thread sounds peaceful enough now that the idiot gibbering has trailed off, and delicious odors seep out around the door. she opens it slightly.*

Is it safe yet? I brought the 'role and some bananas so we can make banana boats.

I ‘m not understanding something here, what is with this Forsaken craze? TheRightStuff makes a big deal out of putting you guys on a list, and then after hounding him to death with your ridicule, he leaves, and the next thing that you folks do is make thread after thread glorifying yourselves in the fact that you are the Forsaken?

I know I must be slow, but it seems that having someone to vilify actually helps form allies and groups because its a thing one can point at and say 'we have this in common' Are humans really that basic, that simple?

I suppose we are. The drive to belong is a strong one with the human animal. I guess I’m lucky because I feel no need to run with the pack or be part of anything. A failing on my part? Perhaps. Humans are social creatures, and anything outside that rule is doomed not to reproduce, and is most likely a monster to be destroyed.

I guess what I'm seeing here is pack mentality, or herd behavior.

River, if those are your feelings, so be it, but a not-so-subtle dig on the merits of herd behavior is not necessary. The mere fact that you are here, on FFF.net, and posting, means you are also following the herd mentality. Yes, humans are social animals; especially in humorous situations. The Right Stuff "attacked" us, and we responded. He left, and we are still here, enjoying the virtual company of others using a title he used against us. Do you consider yourself a Browncoat? This works the same way.
I know there are many people on this board that think highly of you, and worry about you when you "go off". I do not know you, and I have not been here long enough to have witnessed some of your "funny" moments. There are many annoying people on this board, and I try to ignore many of them, but every now and then, something gets my hackles up and I must respond.
To the others, flame me if you must, but I had to say something.

Holding until you get back, Captain.

@River6213:
Your base assumption is wrong, at least when it comes to me. You see, crazy religous people have to be treated as though they are... well crazy.

Thus, I started to have fun, and while I was at it kinda pointed out how much of a hypocrite TRS was (though indirectly).

Others seemed to have the same idea. Some more direct than others.

You see, I (we?) never were circling TRS as a pack of wolves (as you said in that original thread, but have deleted your posts... interesting). I (we?) were just having fun and oh did TRS prove the who hyprocrit thing.

Now, we continue the fun in a thread kinda like the Sereni-Tree threads; just a different topic.

This isn't anything about following the leader, there is no leader. Everyone just kinda joined in and went with it, then it continued.

We are still having fun, and wish to continue. So, if you're just going to post trollish type messages about how much higher you are than us "herd people" then please just go somewhere else. We don't need your negative vibes.

Oh no, I don't mind. I like when people speak their mind even though it hurts sometimes. Your post didn't hurt at all, and yes, I'm on this board as much as the next person, so I too have some social behaviors intact.

Some people think highly of me? That’s a new one! I pity them. Anyway, I was just confused as to why being The Forsaken was such a big deal. I read the whole thread that TheRightStuff made and he just came off as laughable...I don't think the guy was serious at all, and Its strange you guys didn’t see it that way, but it did provide an opportunity for group bonding for all of you, which I think was TheRightStuff's mission all along. I think it was a thread for good old fashion fun.

I could be wrong in all of this and I suspect I am, but the whole thing is kinda confusing. Thanks for responding to my post.

River

P.S. I loved when TheRightStuff said to Pirate News: "You tell the biggest and longest lies of all!!!" LOL!

I deleted my posts because some clown decided she was into hurting River's feelings that day.

Anyway, No. Your whole conflict with TheRightStuff gave you all common ground. It’s the same sort of thing when a group of people doesn’t like one person...it gives them a starting point, some common ground in which to bound.

TheRightStuff was a joke from the start and you guys knew that...a child could have seen that, but you all engaged him because he was an easy kill; you all knew it. I knew it. I didn’t say a whole lot in that thread because it was so obvious, but to my dismay, you guys jumped all over this idiot, ridiculed him off the planet, and then started your own thread. That's what happened.

I hope you don't see this post as judgment of your actions. I found the whole affair funny. I laughed a lot. I'm only writing this because I seem to be missing a component to all of this. You are all running around (virtually of course) a bonfire and yapping about being damned and such...it makes no sense to me, and mind you, this is a girl who months ago was trying to get you all to come up with reasons for sparing the lives of humanity.

You understand my confusing of course?

Sorry, but I am not seeing your post for anything other than you trying to play the lost babe in the woods. Things that other humans understand are slipping right through your comprehension. There are a lot of threads on this board I do not understand, nor can I follow the story lines in many of them. But, I do not go into those threads and ask them for their motivation for posting. I have gone into a thread before to ask what the story-line was (the Nooks, I think). When I found out, I did not post high-minded rhetoric to make myself sound like I was looking into the normal world from the outside. I read the threads, enjoy them for their laughs and ocassional insight, and post when I have something to add. You seem to post in order to get attention; not just in this thread, but in several others as well. You want to question something, fine. Try to do it in a manner that comes across as less condescending, and maybe you will get a better response in the future.
Pitying the people who think highly of you is not the best way to repay their kindness.

Holding until you get back, Captain.
