I bought the Firefly Dvd's today on a whim. I have never seen the show. But I love Sci-fi. I've heard it's good so I thought I would give it a try. Plus at $35 that's a good deal.
Anyway, I was looking at the cases and noticed that the airdates are different from the order that they're in. I'm pretty confused here. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot watching them. HELP!!!

They were originally aired out of order, and three were never aired at all. The DVD has them all in the correct production order, with a few alterations at the creator's request. The DVD presents them as Joss Whedon originally wanted them to be seen.

oh thanks, I was trying to read some about it. And someone on Amazon.com was saying to view them in a certain order and that the dvd set was in the wrong order and I was all confused.

Well that's your first mistake

As a general rule of thumb the only things I every pay attention to on Amazon.com are the

I went to Amazon and looked to see what was said to start the confusion. Looks like this snippet to me.
Quote:
I have enjoyed the stories tremendously and highly recommend this set with the recommendation that you watch it in the order it was intended: Start with 'Serenity' on disc one and watch straight through disc three, and then stop after "War Stories"; go to "Heart of Gold" and watch it and "Objects in Space" on disc four; then watch the last two episodes, "Trash" [last on disc three], and the series finale "The Message" [first on disc four]. This is the way the show should have aired, and, if so, it would likely still be airing today.
First I've heard of any of that.

Yes, that's exactly the entry that threw me off. But I knew to come to a Firefly message board and ask around.
