It's folks like this that give religion, any religion, a bad name.
Unfortunately there's a number of scarey folks like this, especially in Christianity, I've very sorry to say. Taunting them only makes them worse. Actually, pretty much anything you say to them makes them worse as they've got minds like closed beartraps. I generally just ignore them.
However in this case, I, as a Catholic, request to be on the idiot's list. Any god that tells people to act as hate-mongering twits sure isn't my God.

I agree with that statement wholeheartedly--and is the reason that I just sit back--read--and just shake my head. I've had these discussions with these types of people in my life for a very long time. You can't get anywhere with this kind of thinking. All you can do is feel so very relieved that you aren't the same. Also--a song comes to mind that as the years go by--I've found to be very true. The words go a bit like this--"every devil I meet becomes a friend of mine--yeah--every devil I meet is an angel in disguise." ( Been watching you River--I'm thinking this goes for you. Take care of you.)
I've been on the idiot list for these reasons a long time before this post--and I feel a comfort in being on it.

I usually just do that as well. But when they come in where I consider to be home and attack family...that I can't ignore so I let them get to me. *sigh*

That song sounds familiar, and I think I gotta agree with it as well. Too many nice folks I know try to paint themselves badly when they're not. I trying to remember to give 'em a second chance just in case.
