I think I'd much rather watch them make-out than fight.
Is that just me?

She claims not to be very athletic, saying that she had a really hard time running. Strange for someone who looks like they don't even break 100 lbs., cause I know some 230 lbs. brutes who can do two miles in under 12 minutes.

Summer is a trained ballerina. Dance trains the muscles to perform a certain way, and makes the transition to running or swimming competitively very difficult.
So I don't find her statement at all unusual. I can do a long dance routine and feel like total grace, but running, I feel extremely clumsy.

ok I have to agree. After 15 years as a ballerina. I can bench my own body weight and endure a punishing amount of physical exertion and pain. However, I can run for squat. I can barely do a mile on the tredmill and I still can't work those stupid ellipticals.

This is a Firefly website, it's not like anyone is actually going to say "Buffy". Seriously, like you're going to get an honest appraisal here. I like the way Joss said it. He said (and I wish I could find the source) that Buffy would win, because she's got superpowers, but that Jayne would sneak up and knock Buffy in the head with a frying pan just as she was about to finish River off.

River would win 'cause if Buffy tried to hurt
River, I'd put a cap in her (j/k!) :-P

I think Jayne would wait to see if clothes were ripped off before interfering.

Ok so here's where I get hazy:
Buffy: Defeated more often than most people can count almost constantly by small numbers of foes. Lost pitifully to a single manmade non-magical foe. Created by present day technology of the US government.
(She never beat him for that matter, she got others to do it because she was too weak on her own. I kid you not, watch Buffy again.)

River, in addition to being a single manmade non-magical foe created by technology 500 years more advanced than present day US government stuff, is completely undefeated in spite of going up against more numbers than Buffy has ever faced in battle (though Buffy has actually faced similar numbers she never actually fought them and certainly didn't beat them.)

In short:
Buffy: Loses constantly even to the very weak.
River: Has never lost.

If Buffy had her support Scooby gang with her she beats River without a doubt, because Buffy has never been afraid to cheat, but one on one Buffy dies ... again.

I say River. Because I want her to. :D
