Not only that, they were written at least a generation AFTER Christ died, so one can surmise that none of the authors actually saw the events they described.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I can't tell if he really believes any of that crap about Bush being good (probably not), but the tone is inconsistant, and the spelling errors are, well, inconsistant.
My take is TRS is a kid, like 10 - 15, that got burned in Sunday school, and wants to hear anti-religious responses.
I don't think adults that would seriously post like that would be allowed to use a computer that extensivly in a mental facility .

You've got a point there, FMF. And from what I've read, most of the earliest writings that modern scholars have found are those deemed heretical by the church, gnostic writings and such. In fact, it wasn't until the Synods of Nicea centuries later in the Byzantine Empire that most of the "mainstream" Christian beliefs began to be finalised and consolidated, if I'm not mistaken.

There's a great article in this month's issue of National Geographic about early Christian writings and in particular the Judas Gospel, if anyone's interested. And if you can't trust National Geographic, then who can you trust?

Sorry...went off into a bit of an academic rant there.

Still want to be on the list...

Mine is an evil sugar high laugh! Bwahahahaha!

Chris, that's a good theory, but I still think it's somebody that's been around in RWED for a while (possibly a lurker) who wants to have a laugh.

Maybe it's dreamtrove, back from the dead! Hmmm... and Fletch hasn't been around in a couple of days...

Ah, but the best question here is...

Which God ?

Shiva, Kali, Minerva, perhaps ?

Or how about Ares, Mars, or Hades ?

I love how people say "God" and them assumes everyone has the same one, hell, some people worship GREED.. is profit a God then ?
is Money ?
is the hot chick you've been lusting for since eight grade ?

What constitutes divinity anyway - can you worship yourself ?
Would that make you God ?

Of course, if you wanna say there's only one omnipotent, all-powerful, one-and-only "God", you'd have to figure out which one of those presented as such... Gran Met? Zeus? Jehova?

Any way you slice it, we should sue for malpractice and gross negligence.

Tell me not of your chains, and rattle not your chains proudly at me, mere servants of whims both capricious and wicked, for what is holy in oppression and destruction, save to an evil divinity....?

And please, don't insult me by telling me mainstream christianity is a goodly religion till you can answer THIS question.

"If your cause is so noble, than why is it that the only legacy you have ever left us in two thousand years, is the piled corpses of the innocent dead?"

Morwen-

I hereby bestow you the honor of being on the list. You are now 25th in line to the throne of The Forsaken. Wear this honor well and do right by it.

Right of course meaning human rights and respecting one another.

Go out into the world young grasshopper!

EDIT: I actually went and counted the names this time

Is it just me, or does this read like something out of the double-translation game thread?

"All your base are belong to us!"

And I'm insulted--Here I am, a born-again Pagan, and I don't make the list.

"With a Bible on my knee--I'm living for the prophecy--I can't wait--till I hear that sound--I can't wait--for the final battleground--I can't wait--to call out his name--when the world goes up in flame--whoosh!"

My question is to you. More jokes? I call you idiots because you can change and be strong and right. Do you have the courage as President Bush does??????

TheRightStuff

First: I'M ON THE LIST, I'M ON THE LIST, I'M ON THE LIST YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
Ahem

Second: God spoke to me yesterday, he said Bush was actually Satan in disguise...or was it Santa?

Third: You seem to believe that Bush is courageous, why? Is it because he skipped out on Vietnam to hang out in the National Guard?

Fourth: Don't you watch South Park? The Mormons are the correct religion.

Fifth: I have been redeemed. I was redeemed by the High Priest Anton LaVey, or was it L. Ron Hubbard? I forget, I was too busy sacrificing babies to my dread master and drinking the blood of virgins to take notice of who was sodomizing the priest. Oh Well.

Well that's all i really have to say, back to worshipping the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
