Arizona Sherrif gets tough on Illegals.

Arpaio, the sheriff for Arizona's most populous county, is taking advantage of a new state law that allows charging undocumented immigrants with criminal conspiracy to smuggle themselves into the United States. Previous laws had made entering the U.S. illegally a misdemeanor, not a felony. The anti-human-smuggling statute took effect in Arizona in August and gave prosecutors a tool to go after "coyotes," or smugglers, who traffic in undocumented immigrants.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office later issued an opinion saying undocumented immigrants suspected of paying coyotes could be prosecuted as conspirators.

"It’s a felony; I am enforcing a new law," Arpaio said. "I’m the elected sheriff and I'm going to do what I feel is right regardless of the controversy."

Joe Arpaio is the same Sheriff who makes his prisoners wear pink underwear, sleep in fan cooled tents (sorry, no A.C. ), have pink bed sheets. Further more, the prisoners get no cable t.v., eat baloney sandwiches for lunch ( at a cost of 15 CENTS per meal ) and work on actual chain gangs. Maricopa County proudly boast of having the world's only female chain gang, as the ladies aren't spared any of the indignities that their male counterparts must endure.

The point of all this ? Being in his prison SUCKS, so don't break the law!

Great! So we are getting tough on the illegals now in order to hide the fact that we were lazy fucks until the problem got so big that it couldnt be kept hidden, and now we are doing something about it in the only way we know how...blame the people who took advantage of our laziness by being mean. You have to love the American way of doing things.

Our lame duck President should tell that Sheriff to STFU and hold off and let the bigs boys handle this. Somebody should kick that Sheriff's ass.

I hate this crap. Americans sing a good song, but in the end we are all a bunch of mean, lazy, selfish, greedy, mean-spirited idiots...myself included. We all knew about the immigrant problem for years but did anyone do anything about it? No! It's also just stupid. We created a great nation in large part because of the constant influx of people looking for something better. Those are exactly the kind of people we want here. The more we cut off the flow of eager citizens, the more we stagnate.

The ugly part is that even the ignorant bigots who bitch about them, want them here. That's why there's a constant flow of them over the border. It's simple economics, as long as there is market for their labor, they'll keep coming. But, many of us prefer to keep them around as second class citizens, 'illegal aliens' we call them. You can pay them even less that way and bully them however you like because they can't go to the police. It's a kind of 'under the table' slavery in that sense. Naturally we blame them. Sick shit, I tell you.

And there's not a damn thing W can do about Sheriff Arpaio either. He's been elected 4 times and going for his 5th 4 year term. The people of his county love what he's doing. Sheriff Arpaio is doing what the Fed Gov't WON'T do, and HASN'T done anything about, which is exactly WHY it's become such a mess. Has nothing to do w/ 'lazy Americans',unless it's lazy politicians too scared to do what's right. Do things right, the right way, as is being done in Maricopa Co., and you won't have to worry about being re-elected.

Hmmm... I suppose I have to agree with that statement. Also unlike the president, Arpaio is probably trying to do the right thing, but that doesn't change the nature of what's going on. Laws are sometimes wrong, and they need to be changed when that's the case.

Of course! It's about his getting his fat ass reelected. He could have done this years ago, but did he? Alabama's Democratic Party is distancing itself from two Democratic candidates for state office who think all illegal immigrants must leave or be killed.

Party officials described the platforms of candidates Larry Darby and Harry Lyon as ridiculous, unconstitutional and offensive. Darby is running for attorney general, and Lyon is a gubernatorial candidate.

Both agree the influx of illegal immigration into Alabama must be stopped, either through public hangings or martial law.

The party didn't know the men's views before they qualified, said Jim Spearman, the party's executive director. Spearman learned of Lyon's views from the Montgomery Advertiser.

In a statement Friday, the party said Darby would remain on the ballot as a Democrat because there was no formal challenge against him within the timeframe set by its bylaws. Spearman declined to speculate about Lyon.

"His views ... were offensive to many people, across the board," Spearman said of Darby. "It's an embarrassment to the party."

Lyon said if elected, he would sponsor a law to get all illegal immigrants out of the state within 90 days, or be hanged in public.

"It would only take five or 10 getting killed and broadcast on CNN for it to send a clear message to not set foot in Alabama," said Lyon, a Pelham lawyer. "Anybody that breaks into my home is a threat to my life. I remember the Alamo."

"If he's willing to have public hangings of Mexicans, that sounds like he's the right man for the job," Darby said.

Darby said if elected he would ask the governor to institute martial law to stop the influx of illegal immigrants into Alabama. If illegal immigrants attempt to evade law enforcement, they "should be shot on sight," he said.

He said the number of Jews killed in World War II has been grossly exaggerated, and Jews must leave if the United States is to save itself.

"It would be good for Iran to blow Israel off the map," he said.
