I like the premise with lots of characters and several story-arcs that tie together. Not sure I'd buy it but I suppose you might have more money than this poor student!

Dark Angel, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Enterprise, Farscape... anything else you'd like to cancel?

I find that I can't just jump into a random episode with Battlestar, if im going to watch them, I have to start at episode 1 and finish the series. With Firefly, I can just pull a number out of a hat and watch it with just as much enjoyment.

I often watch Firefly when im waiting for someone to pick me up/busses/to go out actually.

The history of it is that they made the mini-series and that got such a great response, that they made season 1. So, if you're going to watch it, you must watch the mini-series first.

Let's just put it this way. If I wasn't involved so much with school, work and a few personal projects already, I'd be programming a BSG game right now.

So, I'd say that it's definitely worth the time. Go rent it now!

Wow, thanks everyone. I didn't think I'd get so many responses! I have already added the miniseries to my list on Netflix and I'm looking forward to seeing it, thanks again!

This whole waiting for BSG to start up again in October is getting really old really fast. What were they thinking? get you hooked and then make you wait.

Agreed.

Though I still dunno what to make of the ending to the last series.

Oh, so that's their little plan. Get us addicted, then make us wait and jack up the price!

Well, they win.

I was never a fan of the original series, and have had arguments with people who were who feel this new version is almost as bad as what Lucas did with the Star Wars prequels. Personally, I think the new show is very good. Again, not as good as Firefly, but then again, what is?

I am old enough to have been a big fan of the original Battlestar series way back when.. and am honest enough to admit that the original series is crap by todays standards.
The new Battlestar however is a close 2nd to Firefly in my all time rankings.

A friend of mine and I had a deal that I'd watch the original BSG with him, and he'd watch Firefly with me. Needless to say, he got hooked immediately on Firefly and begged for more, and alas I never finished the original BSG. However, my brother and dad are obsessed with the new BSG, so I downloaded them and am currently working my way through them. They're really intreguing...sorta reminds me of Babylon 5 with all the plot twists and subterfuge.

No power in the 'verse can stop me!

I've seen the miniseries, but it didn't do much for me. Altogether too glum. Bamber Gascoigne was a particularly bloodless Apollo. And that Baltar bloke, all his fault, and he never gets rumbled?

Perennial Baddies getting away with it week after week are a pet peeve.

Anyone know when vol.2 of the second season is being released? I love the show and netflixed season 2 only to realize it's just the first half. Now I'm bummin. I know sci-fi is showing it now, but it's almost at the end. Thanks!
