Time for another imponderables thread?

Did you know that most writers of slash m/m fanfiction are women?
I just think in our society, women are trained to NOT express it, mostly because our men would absolutely freak-out if we said, "You know what would be hot? Watching you get it on with Antonio Banderas!"

Yeah, boys reactions to that...not so shiny!

Eh, the majority of women I've known in the past (since I know relatively none now) all claimed to be very weirded out by male on male stuff. If they feel it, I wouldn't say that women are trained by anyone but themselves not to express it.

Generally speaking, males seem to be born with the attitude to do whatever they can get away with. Females seem to put more thought into things, how they'll be perceived by other people and whatnot. Most men wouldn't freak at the mere mention of being with another guy, as long as they were confident that they wouldn't have to do it and that they wouldn't lose the female they were with if they didn't go along with it.

I actually knew a guy once who went out of his way to make people think he was gay. Actually made out with other real gay guys in public, but ultimately he would bed a woman when they let their guard down. Yeah, real piece of shit he was, even managed to take my first girlfriend from me with that act...

Anywho, I find the idea of any two beings, same or opposite genders, engaging in that act utterly disturbing. So for every extreme, know that there is an antitheses.

Hmmm.

As I absolutly refuse to breakup anyones relationship I am only left with those who are available and legal and not bound by holy oaths. That is to say Jayne and possibly Inara cause she is a companion.

If we are just talking about who I would find attractive. Girl=Kaylee and Boy=Wash (assuming I were sly or female which I am not)

However, I am sure we would all like to give some S&M lovin to Adelai Niska.

Brother Julian.

Hey, as long as it's loving, I think it's hot. I've read some slash fics that left me cold, and some that left me, well, not cold. I'll say, though, that I never eally thought about it before reading them. As far as someone I was with... Well, I wouldn't want to watch them get it on with anyone else, regardless of gender. But cute couples are cute, and they can be across the whole spectrum. There are some lesbian couples that are really not that cute, some that are; some hetero cuples that are also decidedly not cute, and some that are. See where I'm going with this? anyway, my theory is that it's usually the thought of pleasure that causes the "I'll be in my bunk" reaction. Women can be very good at pleasuring each other since they are, uh, quite familiar with the parts. The same could probably be said of men. It's not a regualr fantasy, but I can dig it.
That brings up another thought. another generalization that I might be totally off on: I, as a woman, tend to have fantasies that include myself. I think this is true of most women, which is possibly why we don't tend to fantasize about two men together. Where would we fit in? But men seem to be able to imagine two completely different people and still find it enjyable, which is possibly why they would fantasize about two women. Am I right?

I would have to choose Simon and Kaylee. I think Simon would be amazing once he let his hair down - lots of bottled up passion in that one ! ! ! !

Kaylee would just be so sweet and loving, how could anyone resist?

JAYNE ALL THE WAY!!!!! I have always been a sucker for bad boys and big guys. It would go better if he didn't talk too much, ya know, cuz it is Jayne, but still. (mmmmm hmmmmm.)

As for the girlfolk, i'd have to go with Kaylee. She's so damn cute, and sweet, and spunky. I'd hope she'd talk, and laugh, and have herself a good ol' time.

I wouldn't be violently opposed to Shephard Book. He's an attractive older fellow, and i think he would be sweet.

As beautiful as River is, i wouldn't want to get down with her. I fear her genius little brainpan would overanalyze everything and kill the fun. If she didn't kill me.

Oh, i am a tweaked one, yes i am.

Inara is seriously not getting enough thread-time here!

What's the matter with y'all?

Bloke: oh god that's so hard. Probably Mal. But I really wouldn't say no to any of them.

Hmmmm... this seems to be more multiple choice than I expected. I am ALL female and not at all Sly, but Kaylee has that enthusiasm for the moment that is so charming. I would also pick Mal and he might even be more of my first choice now that I have given it added thought. That is a man with deep well-springs of emotion, no question. Plus he would be loyal to the death once he made up his mind that you were the "one".

Ok, Suzfromoz brought up a good point that I aim to answer -- leastways for myself.

Why so few votes for Mal?

Mal is intensely appealing in a lot of ways, many of them physical. And I've no doubt he'd know what to do between the sheets. And I have the greatest respect for him. But I think my interest in Mal would be centered on a different type of relationship. I'd be buddies with him, work for him, work beside him, learn from him. Maybe be a sister to him. Some kind of relationship that wouldn't be damaged by sex. Because, I think with Mal, things can be damaged by sex and romantic feelings. So I'd also hope he didn't feel that way about me, although I'd be mighty honored if he did.

So I have a feeling that people aren't failing to notice Mal's qualities, of which he has plenty. I just think he inspires deeper reactions in people than merely sexual ones. Which could explain why more people don't take hold of his plough more often. Poor fella. ;)
