How many of you have Sprint PCS Vision phones?

Hi there,

I just got one of the cool new sprint phones and I've been searching for a Firefly ringtone and wallpapers to no avail.

Unfortunately, the link you provided below doesn't work for me, it just gets directed to the bluesunroom.asp page.

I would LOVE to get a hold of a pic of Serenity to put on my phone (Sanyo SCP-5300), or you know, any FF related stuff :)

Kinda. I was just tinkering. I have a Samsung A500, so the image is formatted at 128x112. Don't know if you can use that. If you give me the model of your phone, I can resize the image to match its resolution.

When you get the text message, extract the URL then go to it, at that point your phone should proceed to download the image. I use mine as a wallpaper. Looks pretty awesome seeing the Serenity on that little screen.

If you have a particular image you are interested in, let me know and I can create it for you.

When I have time to hack more code, I'll make it possible for you to upload your own pictures to your phone.

Now, if someone has a midi of the Firefly theme, I can make it a downloadable ringtone. That'll be cool.

It's supposed to do that after you enter your PCS phone number and click submit. The way this works is that you provide your phone number, the website sends your phone a message, you extract the URL that's in the message then have your phone go to the URL and download the image.

Note that this only works for Sprint PCS phones.

If you have further questions, please feel free to ask. Perhaps I can work on setting up something that'll work for you.

That's interesting. Until right now, going to the website you'd given below wasn't working, instead I was getting redirected to the "Blue Sun Room" page. However, now it only works in Safari (I'm on a mac) and yes, I've got Serenity on my phone now!

I think I can figure out how to size an image to put on the phone, but I definitely don't know how to be able to download it from my phone. Are you working on any more images? Because maybe I'll try and work on some and send them over to you to put through? Or you know, if you've got some of Nathan Fillion / Sean Maher laying about... :)

Yup. Certainly if there's a demand for them. I'll see what I can do about getting more images up for download.

My gosh--that worked perfectly!! If you could send me an email or something--I'm not entirely sure how you did it--but my husband is a CS guy, so I assume he'll be able to figure it out--I'd love to be able to use whatever images I like!! Mail me sometime, when you get time.

That's actually not too difficult to do, but I want to take it a step further and create a moblog (like TextAmerica) for FFF.NET. Seems like everyone is creating one these days. That's what I have simmering on the backburner. But I'm kind of behind with real life stuff that I haven't had the time to work on the site lately (which explains why everything on here has been delayed lately).

Now you realize that plenty of folks will have to trash their AT&T, Verizon, and whatever else and sign up with Sprint. Do you get kick backs from Sprint or something...

Anyways, how are you doing the text paging? Thru a page portal?

Thanks Haken for the download. It worked perfectly. I have been looking for firefly downloads for my phone for a while to no avail. If you get the firefly theme for a ring tone or more pictures I would be very interested.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.
