Woah dude!

Even Tim Minear wouldn't kill off that many characters at once! It seems to me that if one is female and on the island, having a flashback episode and having sex on the island in that episode are a deadly combination. Of course, if Libby is dead too that theory wouldn't completely work out...

Just when I was starting to like AL.

Yeah, I agree. I like LOST, but I'm not like a dir-hard fanatic for it. Personally, I could care less what the #s mean and what the island is and all the complex mythology attached to it (I always felt the island was the last mystical place left in the world and that it draws people who have something of a mystical or psychic connection). I'm just along for the ride.

But I gotta say my jaw dropped to the ground when Michael first gunned down Ana Lucia (I know a lot of people would have cheered at that moment) and then turned the gun on Libby (No!!! She shouldn't die. Hurly shouldn't be robbed of his one in a million chance of getting laid) and then himself. Although the trailers for next weeks ep kinda ruins it in that we know Mike just shot his arm and not himself leaving Henry to escape.

Although there's some speculation that Libby is still alive and that for some reason people think she's one of The Others (which I think is total crap). Here's hoping Hurly can still get laid.

Excerpt of internet teaser for CLERKS 2.

OH! I know! Complete shocker! I didn't breathe for about 5 minutes afterwards.

The whole time, something wasn't sitting right with me about Michael, something was definitely not right.

This show is crazy!

I heard on another message board (straightdope.com, go to the cafe society, then to the Lost thread) that the actress who plays Libby has already signed up for a new tv series or made-for-tv movie, can't remember which. In any case, I'm fairly certain she's dead for that reason.

I'm not sure what Michael's plan is - he seems to be trying to set up the Other dude as the killer, but...what's the point? Kate and Jack were already going after the guns. They were already behind Michael, and he knew that before he decided to do this. I've heard theories that he's an Other himself, but there seemed to be too much anger in his eyes in the last scene for him to be arranging for the Other dude's escape. Plus, he's framing him, so that's not a great escape plan, is it? Any ideas here??

My impression was that he had become an Other, and by framing Henry (and shooting himself) he's secured what Henry couldn't - infiltration into the crash survivors. Michael already fed them whatever information the Others had wanted him to (about the kids, the two guns, etc.), and now they'll just be more motivated to go to war.

Personally, while I found the shootings shocking, I was expecting Michael to be a plant, and I didn't really find the episode, or story all that compelling.

I agree, the idea of Michael turning on them wasn't a surprise, but I thought that would be kept as a season 3 arc. That he openly turned on them in the same episode was surprising (usually Lost tries to deceive its viewers for a longer time than that). And like you said, that he shot two of them was a shock.

SPOILERS!!!!!!

*****DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE SPOILERS!!!*****

Well, me & two co-workers talk about Lost all the time, especially on Thursdays. One of them is on all of the Lost message boards & gets all the scoop. So, apparently Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Annalucia (spelling?), only wanted to do the show for one season. So, needing to write her out of the show, they decided to kill off her character, which worked right into the writer's storyline.

Now, as far as Libby (Hurley's love interest) goes, she is NOT dead. She has been signed for another season & one of the episodes next season will center on more backstory for her character. So, somehow she will live. Most likely the blankets she had folded up in front of her will have slowed down the bullets enough to save her or something of that nature.

Also, the scenes from the next episode shows Michael standing with his back against the wall in the armory. The look on his face was one of anger and or contempt. Looks to me like he has been locked up in the armory now that he let "Henry" go. I am assuming that Libby lives & rats him out for what he did to her & Annalucia.

As for Michael's motives, we have come up w/ two that we are favoring. One is that Michael was captured by the Others & they convinced him to spring "Henry" at all costs or he would never see Walt again. That would make him desperate enough to do what he did. The other theory is that he is trying to convince Jack & the rest of the castaways of how dangerous the Others are & manipulate them into attacking the Others to help him spring Walt. This last theory is not really clicking w/ me since Jack, Locke & Kate were already holding a pistol on Sawyer to persuade him to give up the guns to pursue Michael's plan of getting together a force to free the kids in the hatch he described.

Things just took a turn for the interesting. I can't wait for next week's episode.
