Hi all

I'm looking for as much information as I can (cannon or fannon - I'm good with either) about the good shepherd, especially, as we see him in the Serenity movie - his posting at the Haven mining colony, and his last days there before the Alliance attack)

I'm writing a cross-over Firefly/Highlanderverse fic that has Book as an immortal, and I want to have him talking about his time on Haven... but there's not a lot of info about it out there - Wiki is sorely lacking.

Can anyone point out either good fics that deal with Book's time on Haven (or indeed, his time onboard Serenity, as that'll be helpful later on in the story), or sources of actual real live cannon information?

Thanks heaps!

Starfire

There is some info in the Serenity RPG book, especially about Haven, but its all damn scetchy. Pretty much says that Book left for some reason, that Haven is a mining Colony and that they have been having problems with the corps and thats why they bought themselves a cannon.

You can’t stop the Signal.
Keep spreading the word about Firefly!

The comic books and novelization of the movie are good sources for background info. The comics talk about why he left Serenity, and the novel goes into more depth on Haven; why people are there, why they have a cannon, etc. It doesn't talk much about Book's activities there, but it talks about the people he was around, so it fills in a few blanks. Seems basically like it was a good place to hide and everyone there was running from something. Sounds like the good Shepard, doesn't it? Give it a look; it's good stuff.

Awesome, thanks for that.

I've just found the e-book of the novel on Amazon, so I'll read that before I write anything more :-)

I *knew* it was a good idea to ask for help here

Thanks again
