i must confess i was somewhat sceptical about firefly
a couple of friends of mine constantly praised it to the rafters, and generally this is a bad sign, because anything they both like is generally unspeakably awful (van helsing anyone)
the DVDs were forced on me and having nothing better to do i watched them........
i have just seen the LAST 
episode, its 01.15 and im nearly in tears
in my opionion firefly was the best sci-fi show on TV, ever, by a goddamn country parsec
it has everything that is neccesary to be great drama: characters you care about, in a milieux that is intersting, that are in conflict, PLUS great special effects, fantastic music, gorgeous women, the ongoing river story, and a comic psycho killer called jayne
oh and for the record I LOVE KAYLEE!

Know how you feel, I was a sceptic for the same gorram reason and I saw Serenity mostly because I was bored. Took about 5 minutes and then I was completly sold on the entire series

I'm on strawberry duty, and the whole gang pitches in, stocking the buffet for questioning. Lots of fruit, cookies, Mudder's Milk, etc. are laid out right now. (Avoid the red kiwis, however. They trickled in from one of the llama threads -- some kind of experiment.)

Van Helsing is a ruttin good movie! Visually stunning, epic musical score and you cant go wrong with Hugh Jackman.
