I am intersted in making the blue dress that River wears in the maidenhead bar scene. I am, however, quite puzzled at what to do for a pattern. The dress seems to have some very funky seams going one. Does anyone have any advice/tips for me?

Images might be nice to....

You might try going on propstore.com to look for images. I don't know if its been sold already, but they might have some kind of image in their archives.

yeh I looked at propstore and it is still there. Sadly though, it is still rather hard to see and I am hoping that someone else has made a replica of it and can offer me some tips... laziness is rampert here... the picture does need to be examined a little bit more. It does privide some good information as to the location of some of the seems... not all of them though.

I am making the same dress atm. I have made a pattern just off of pictures. Its not a very good pattern and is made to fit me. But I might be able to help.

I don't have a scanner... I feel kinda useless. I am not a professional seamstress. I kinda just paused teh dvd, sketched the dress out and then cut paper to fit me.

It took me about 3 tries for a pattern that looked right.

No sadly. I wish I had some guidence for it. One thing i can say its google for dress patterns and find one that is close, you can always alter the paper to make it look differently.

Never made a dress (despite some illmannered rumors), and ive never really made anything from a stillphoto like that. I do however know that some people can copy a dress or other clothing item from just photos or videos of it. Talk with some proffesional seamtresses. Have a friend who knows how and from my experience a pro will want some deal of money for doing it, since its a timeconsuming process.

It is a lovely dress, isn't it? I suggest you take a look at:

You'll get some good tips from people who have tried the same project.

And... to see some good close ups, take a look at
