I'm slightly depressed as well.
I'm not even following what's happening in the other event-related threads (they seem to be out of control anyway).
The planned event was gaining momentum constantly, and now... this.
I really think the thread about changing date should have never been started.
Whatever, let's hope something good will come of it anyway, but I don't have the time nor the energy to follow.

I would like to support a Serenity day but all those negative posts are detracting from the real goal.
Until something is decided for sure I'm gonna keep attempting to recruit my friends, family, neighbors, people I meet on the street to keep the 'Verse alive.

I impulse-bought another copy of the Firefly DVDs today :D Finding people to gift it to always excites me, makes me happy.
In my experience, a healthy dose of depression can serve well to make the good things in life a little sweeter, if you have the will to choose them.
And I do like the spirit of unconditional support that you can find here. That's hard enough OFF the internet!

But Haken posted yesterday and it seems the thing has been settled and in a very positive way, with a shiny bunch of stuff to do all summer now, in the run up to September 30th. We're still going to do a June 23rd event, my personal favorite part being supporting the screenings for charity, and then we are going to have many things to keep the fandom connected until September 30th. I have great faith that our leaders can give us jobs, some big, some small that will help us to participate. I like it! I hope you will join in some small way too.. I don't have much time, I run my own business, but I'm looking forward to doing what I can to say thanks to Univeral.
My Mom always taught me, please and thank you's are always right.. I think this thank you to Univeral will be just right.
