But seriously- I've had Guiness from a bottle, Guiness on-tap, and Guiness direct from Ireland on-tap. (Turns out the bartender was one of "the boys" and was doing a little fund-raising on the side.) They weren't the same beer. I don't know how they can call them all the same name. The Guiness from Ireland had an extremely fine foam that didn't rise all that quickly, giving it a creamy texture, and the beer was so filling that I barely finished one. Does anyone have direct comparion experience and an explanaiton for why they were so different?Miller's OK for every-day, I guess.

Not exactly, it used to be brewed under license in England and a number of other places, though this seems to be changing. It's easier now for Guinness to come from Ireland, it used to be a live beer which is no longer the case.

Budwiser Budvar is the Czech beer. The Budweiser comes from the fact that it is brewed as a beer similar to beers brewed in the Czech city of Budweis, just as beers brewed in Plzeň are Pilsner. Since, as you say, Bud is an American Lager, strictly speaking it can't be a Budweiser
.It's quite nice, brewed with pure spring water from an underground lake, so you can fool yourself into thinking your doing yourself good while getting smashed.

As far as “cold piss” is concerned, I’ve never actually had the pleasure, so maybe my characterization is wrong. For all I know, cold piss is better.

If your going to drink bottled Guiness try to get the "imports" from Belgium or Nigeria (I'm not joking).
The Nigerian Guiness is 7.5% and the Belgian 8% and will not only happily survive the trip to the colonies but will actually improve with age.
The best U.S. beer I've ever had was something called "Dog fish head Stout" (again, not joking). It's 21% and a damn good piece of kit.
The best beers in the world, however, are probably the Belgian Trappiste Ales which are well worth seeking out wherever you live.
Theres a website in Belgium that ships worldwide (and they do the Belgian Guiness).

The current geo-political scene is just such an extreme situation; Americans don't really have a choice, if our way of life is to survive.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause--Is there a spin-doctor in the house? Again, just because something looks like scapegoating, it might just be the truth. There actually are quite a lot of waterfowl that look and sound like a duck, but they're actually greebs and loons, etc. The Terrorists aren't scapegoats, they're ruthless killers that we must hunt down. Americans don't really have a choice, if our way of life is to survive.
4. Supremacy of the Military--Again, all you need to do is take your Pinko-tinted glasses off and take a good hard look at reality! In order for our way of life to survive, we must have military superiority; Americans don't really have a choice unless we ignore reality.
5. Rampant Sexism--holy moly, is this what it feels like inside a washing machine? The spin never ends! I got two words for you: Condi Rice. And if Dreamtrove is right, in two years we'll have the first woman president in U.S. history!
6. Controlled Mass Media--This is a time of War! Americans don't really have a choice about censorship--Osama watches T.V. too!
7. Obsession with National Security--I think I may have had a little too much to drink last night, 'cause everything keeps SPINNING! A little obsession with National Security in a time of War is necessary. Americans don't really have a choice, if our way of life is to survive.
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined--In a time of war, it's necessary for people to seek security in tradition. Governments are made up of people, so in a time of war our government will naturally become more traditional. Religion is simply traditional in America. Wishing won't change that. Americans don't really have a choice, when it comes to what is and is not traditional values.
9. Corporate Power is Protected--Hello? In case you haven't noticed, our economy is down and we're in debt up to our eye-balls to China! Corporate Power is all we got to turn this puppy around! Americans don't really have a choice, if the country is to return to her former glory.
10. Labor Power is Suppressed--because there has never been a single, more corrupt institution in our country's history than unions. Americans don't really have a choice unless we want to tolerate corruption.
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts--Oh, no, what we need is Ben Affleck and Britany Speares on the '08 presidential ticket! Since when did Intellectuals and Artists become important politically? Reality is finally catching up to Ed Asner's ego. The Hollywood Dream Factory, is just that: a factory of dreams. Fantasy or Reality: Americans don't really have a choice these days.
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment--I've got my old Dead or Alive C.D. on repeat: You spin me right round, baby! What is it with you people and "obsession?" If someone's got a gun pointed in your face, isn't it time to get a teensy bit "obsessed" with your own survival? Isn't "obsession" a lot like "focus" or "finally taking reality serious enough to do something about it?" Americans don't really have a choice, if our way of life is to survive.
