I suppose I came by Firefly first. I knew about Buffy and Angel, but had only ever caught one or two episodes prior.
Still meaning to catch up on those two, I come by the re-runs all the time, but it's always something a couple seasons into the show and it's one of those things where I don't really know what's going on, having missed alot of the earlier shows.
Did really like the "musical" Buffy episode, though :)

I got into Buffy way back in the day... yep, I'm talking about the horrible, horrible movie. My mom LOVED it (she loves teen movies) so I've had a copy of it in the house since I was six years old. Me and my sister watched it ridiculously too much.
So, you can imagine how mystical and magical it was when the series started.
Didn't get as much into Angel (partly because they killed off my favorite character in season one -- on the other hand, it did give the show so much depth, make it better), especially the last season, but what I hear about it makes me want to save my money.
I had heard about Firefly when it was airing, but never managed to catch it. Thank god they aired it on scifi this summer. Of all of his shows, this is the one I am most obsessed with (and given my deep love for Buffy, this is something).
Okay, now I ramble...

Honestly, I hate Buffy and Angel. If it weren't for Firefly, I'd have absolutely no interest in Joss Whedon whatsoever. Firefly was really something special, something that transcended Joss, a product of love from so many people involved in it...he just got it going. So, generally speaking, I'm not a fan of Joss Whedon. I am however, a firefly fan.

I came to love all things Joss by watching Firefly first. Fell in love with it ( well, Mal and it!) when it aired on SciFi before the BDM came out. I love the way Joss makes us love these people and then the people he chooses to be the people... OMG, good!
But I recently watched a couple of the Buffy eps to see Nathan Fillion in them.. made me intrigued.
So I put Buffy in my Netflix rotation.. and I'm more than willing to be openminded to some more Joss!
Next up.... Angel.
But Mal and Firefly will always be my first love.

*sigh of relief*
Shiny. I thought I was the only one.
I still haven't seen Buffy or Angel. After seeing the movie, I thought the show (being more serious) wouldn't be as good. I am tempted to see Angel, though. Since I watch David Borenaz in Bones, I thought it wouldn't hurt to give his alma mater a try.

The TV series of Buffy is infinitely better than the Buffy movie, Deepgirl.

That's what I've heard. If anything, I would see it just for the episodes that have our BDM's in them.

I actually started off with "Toy Story" ;) for which he got writing credits.
Then in high school I watched Buffy but I wasn't overly obsessed with it - I just made sure I caught it every week. Around Season 4 I tuned out. I never watched Angel and I missed Firefly the first time around due to college applications. I think Firefly is the best, though.

I actually watched like, 2 or 3 seasons of buffy over the course of 2 weeks (way before FF was even aired) - I was visiting my brother in San Fran, and his roomate's a huge fan, so while my bro was at work, I'd pop in a disk and watch 2 or 3 episodes. I was mainly watching for fun, and I honestly don't remember much of what went on, but I remember thinking that wasn't nearly as corny as I thought it would be. Then I saw the BDM, and I say Joss Whedon's name on it, and I went "Hey...Whedon. Wasn't that the Buffy guy?" So I guess you could say I reverse-reverse engineered myself back to buffy.
OFF TOPIC ALERT:
Arcadia, that is an AWSOME pic in your sig. If there's anything I like more than Firefly, it's comic books, so naturally Those Left Behind was like the first FF thing I bought. Where'd you get that pic?

Thanks. I went to google, screencaptured the cover, and then cropped it and added my name in GIMP(freeware version of photoshop). I love Inara, and she just looks so pretty here (didn't like her nearly as much in her full cover). I think Zoe's cover is the best, though.
