It should be obvious that the poll is anonymous. There's no login of any kind. You just show up and vote. The script does recognize repeat voting attempts by IP, but that info isn't public.

Are you sure it will be on HBO? and even if it was, would everyone watch it? How many people subscribe to HBO. If people are casual viewers and were potentially interested in the movie, i am sure they would have rented it already. Also, if people watched it on HBO and liked it, it would help to reach out to them, and point out that buying the DVD from universal is a good idea, because we can help convince them(in the long run), to have more. And also tell them there is more(the Firefly series), and that more people have to see this. Especially since the movie didnt do well at the box office.
As I am aware of for the june 23rd it will be a day of buying dvds... and donating them to libraries...and try to get as many fans and non-fans to buy it around that day. And writing letters.
In terms of Sept 30th, it would involve a whole summer of promoting the movie by flyers getting people interested at conventions, maybe get the actors to say a few things, and then on Sept 30th, buy the dvds. And donating those dvds to libraries etc, or as gifts. OH and writing letters to universal as well.
The arguments for june 23rd is that its already planned, there is enthusiasm and some momentum, and by changing the date, one would risk losing the enthusiasm and interest of the browncoats, plus the planning would be in vain somewhat.
For sept 30th the arguments, is that more time is allowed to have a bigger campaign, to be able to reach more people(through the conventions etc), and more people would buy the DVD on sept 30th than June 23rd. Plus people could be doing xmas shopping then. And any bad feelings with the screenoing charity campaign Serenity Now/Equality Now would be resolved, since there would be no potential confusion between the two campaigns.
Correct me if I am wrong about the descriptions. I hope the arguments I presented we as unbiased. I they were, again please feel free to correct me.
