I'm sorry Seba..I hope my request for help with seeing where to vote hasn't contributed to that feeling.
I do know how you feel though, I went offline the other day and watched Firefly and tried to cope with the loss of family feeling here and the just plain sad feeling. Watching helped and being away a little gave me some perspective. But I came back, cuz this is home and I'm a Browncoat and this is worth getting right.
The voting site you put up is shiny and I hope you will not go away and stay away... it's likely the leader of this will need you when they decide which way they are going.

I'm sorry too that it turned out this way, but that's how it went and we can still have lots of fun when we get through the storm. You'll see when the sun comes through, and maybe you'll reconsider.

Why can there be only *one* Serenity Day?
For one, the Whedony goodness just can't be contained in a mere 24-hour span. That's asking each hour to do far more than it was ever intended. The poor things will end up with stretch marks.
For another, those that can't participate in one day's festivities may be able to participate in another.
For a third, if a thing brings more strife and grief than family and friendship, it doesn't seem to jibe with the vibe of Firefly/Serenity - which is not only the well-meaning futility of large bureacracies and the harm they cause, but the truly important stuff. Family. Home. Wherever that may be, whatever form that may take.
On June 23rd and on September 30th, I'm going to hang out with friends, have a barbequeue, watch Serenity, and sit around and just enjoy their company.
Just to be contrary, I'll do that on other random days as well.
All this angry back and forth is going to short out my irony light.

The whole thing is being discussed in about 9 other, very long threads. The point is to make one big impact on ONE day, not 2 moderate ones on 2 days.

All right, I've cleared my head. I'll continue to work on the website, but hopefully things will improve. I emailed kaele and let her know how I feel about things, as I'm starting to believe that it will be much smoother for everyone if we just move the thing to Sept. (and the poll is saying as much anyway). It will certainly ease the conflict, in any case.

Sorry, I have been in my own little world working on my book. What is Serenity Day excatly? Everyone is suppose to go out and buy a copy of the DVD on this day or something?
It is a cool idea, I am all for it. But what excatly is suppose to get accomplished? Are we trying to convert new fans? Because if we are I would bet a pretty penny that by Sept it will be playing on HBO already. Maybe even a gozillion times. So once it does that people will not buy it.
