There's been a lot of discussing lately and some of it has gotten pretty harsh, so I just wanted to put in a few words.
Here's is what I will be doing to promote Serenity. I will be going along with the original Serenity Day plan. There are no screenings near me but I suggest that that effort be supported to. So on Serenity Day I will be mailing Universal to thank them and buying two copies of the BDM. I suggest everyone still does this.
Then, on June 24th I will wake up and start posting and sending letters to Universal again. I will talk about Serenity Day and share my new BDMs. I will continue to do this until September 30th, which I hope to be a bigger day with all the new support built over the summer. Then, after celebrating again on September 30th, I will wake up on October 1st and begin the cycle all over again.
Others have suggested this plan also, via the Serenity Summer Campaign, and I am here to say that is what I will do and I suggest everyone else does also. Go with and support the original Serenity Day. Then wake up the next morning prepared to continue the fight with the Serenity Summer Campaign. Wars are not won with a single battle, but through many prolonged engagements. We have to all be in it for the long haul.
So now what we need is less arguing, some planning, and more action.
One goal.
One plan.
One army of Browncoats.

Actually, the Serenity Summer Campaign plan is...
June 23rd: Support SN/EN, jolly merrymaking, start of campaign (busybusybusy)
September 30th: Buying Frenzy to top it off with a bang.
All kinds of conventions, recruiting, shindigs and spreading the word inbetween.
The original plan for Serenity Day was to focus on ONE day to make a noticable impact. Your plan is to, well, not really do anything together. Rally the troops to occasionally buy a DVD on their own?
Apart from that, that plan that has been up for ages on www.browncoatsrising.com.
So of course it's totally okay if you buy DVDs every day and give to the poor - more power to you - but we want an event.

Sorry about that! I've revised the tally and you've been ensconced nice and comfy with the September 30th clan, which I am more than happy to do.
That's the benefit of having a count that contains peoples' names, it offers the chance to double check the count, and have the results be very visible to all. Beware the mystery counts...

Yeah, well, since Kaele seems nowhere to be found,
and September 30th has won the vote here, anyways, why don't we just declare that
SEPTEMBER 30TH IS SERENITY DAY.
I mean, we're fighting and argueing for days, and there is no leadership, no, but a VOTE IN FAVOR OF SEPTEMBER 30TH, so what the hell are we waiting for?

Yes, she did step up, Succatash, and was doing a fine job until she ignored her counsel begging her to not use the 23rd and to come up with a different plan involving the 30th. I still have hopes that she will see the light regarding the plan re: the 30th and do that.
As one of the original inner circle I take exception with what you are saying. You don't know what happened internally with this.
This thread was started by someone not affiliated with that inner circle.. who was however aware of the original points for using the 30th instead. That person was just attempting on their own I surmise to throw this out to a vote for all the folk.
Since when is it considered mutiny if someone wants to know what all the folks think?
I believe there is just honest voting going on here. Hell, it seems to be finished. Now if we had honest vote counting by the authorities we'd have some consensus.
We're all Browncoats and we shouldn't accuse each other of things that aren't true. IMHO.

For my part, my posts to Kaele were to call her on statements she made that were obviously incorrect. Her count of the vote here was also drastically skewed to favor her own choice.
A good leader seeks consensus. Because to achieve success for the type of campaign being planned depends on the majority of fans agreeing. There was a serious schism developing which had to be resolved, or the plan would have been crippled from the start. That's why this thread was started, to take a vote and decide how best to proceed.
The actions of a leader have to be held to a higher level because what they do affects many other people. My posts to Mary never asked her to step down. They were made because she was changing and "bending" facts, making statements that were disturbing to a lot more people than just me, and was ignoring the majority of the people speaking up.
Maybe you have a different philosophy about leaders? Should they never be questioned? Should their personal preferences prevail over the majority of people? Is the person who steps in to lead be given automatic immunity just because they stepped in to lead?
You're expressing sympathy, which is laudable. But maybe there's a good reason why people are questioning kaele's leadership choices. This does need to be resolved in order to move forward... this thread wouldn't exist unless people felt they weren't being heard and the plan needed changing.
