I'm one of the older people here too and I'm glad to see i'm not the only one:

First LP, Meet the Beatles, I was six. I loved John Lennon and was going to marry him when I grew up.

I evolved into a hard-core Pink Floydian. I was singing along with "Dark side of the Moon" when I was 14 and I still do, at 48. David Gilmour's guitar riffs make me.... giddy.

My first record (well, the first I bought myself, at least) was the single "Take on me" by a-ha. I don't know if they were successful in the US or Canada. It was a real hit all over Europe in 1984 (so, now you know how old I probably am... )

Have fun,
Capella

My first record was the Thunderbirds theme tune on 7" vinyl. The B-sides were the Joe 90 theme, and 'Parker, Well Done!'.

Oh, the shame...!

"Kriss Kross'll make ya jump jump! Daddy Mack'll make ya jump jump! Mack Dad'll make ya jump jump! Uhhuh uhhuh!"

Ahem, now that I've thoroughly embarassed myself, I'll say the Kriss Kross cd was the first one I bought, when I was very young. I think I heard the whole thing once. And I definitely don't listen to them anymore. I stopped at most a year after they came out (they didn't last long). And in retrospect they suck so horribly it's funny.

"Warm it up Kriss!"

I'm a leaf on the wind. Watch me soar.

My first CD - sad to say - was Steps' "Steptacular" album. I feel so very young, and so very pathetic.

Well, didnt start buying records untill sometime in my teens, got most of my music from my folks before that. So the first record I bought for myself was Red Hot Chilipeppers with Californication.

You can’t stop the Signal.
