Mal v Han Solo

I know that this is a rather basic question but who do we think would win in a 'whos the best' competition between Mal and Han Solo. The categories are-
1- Looks (Solo with his black jacket or Mal with his tightpants)
2- Wisecracks (Solo with 'sorry about the mess' or Mal with 'Kaylees dead')
3- Heroicness (Solo saving Luke in the attack on the Death Star or Mal taking out Dobson with one shot)
4- Captain abilities (Solo takes the Millenium Falcon into an asteroid to evade the Empire or Mal staying behind with Serenity in Out of Gas)
Who would win these four categories and who is the best overall? I know that this is a Firefly based website but lets cut out the bias if we can.
Take your pick- Mal or Han Solo?

Oooh... you have picked a rather touchy topic. Two iconic figures, similar packaging...
Looks - I'm a dude, so I really can't vote on this one - but Inara was way hotter than Lea
Wisecracks - I might have to go with Mal
Heroicness - Solo - faced down Jabba's dudes while he was blind...
Captain abilities - toss up. Solo is a better pilot - Mal has to run a crew. So, what is more captainy?

2- Wisecracks (Solo with 'sorry about the mess' or Mal with 'Kaylees dead')If it's between those two, Han. But Mal had soooo many more zingers.
3- Heroicness (Solo saving Luke in the attack on the Death Star or Mal taking out Dobson with one shot)Again, with those options, Han. And again, Mal has several more heroic moments than that one.
4- Captain abilities (Solo takes the Millenium Falcon into an asteroid to evade the Empire or Mal staying behind with Serenity in Out of Gas)Hans move there showed his skills as a pilot, but Mal staying behind was far more Captainy.
Without any bias, I can honestly say that Mal wins hands down. He's more a wise-ass and more heroic. That's just this fan's humble opinion.

Well, given this is a Firefly fan site, I think we can assume where most answers will fall.
In all fairness, there's really not an even playing field for comparison. Han was not the central character of the Star Wars films, whereas Mal, though part of an ensemble, is still the lead. Also, books and such aside, we've gotten a lot more screen time with Mal than Han (6 hours for Han, roughly 14-15 hours with Mal), so Mal has simply had more opprotunity for wisecracking captainy heroics.
But to answer the questions:
1. Looks: Well, I'm a guy, but for what it's worth, Han had a more rugged appearance, whereas Mal is a bit prettier, so I'd pick Han on that front.
2. Wisecracks: I'd give that to Mal. Joss writes better wisecracks than anyone who's ever written for Star Wars.
3. Heroics: I'd have to go Han for this one. Mal generally only got into the Heroics when he had to, or was getting paid. Han started that way, then chose to go save Luke when he was already home-free. He then joined the rebellion even though there was no personal gain in it for him (other than getting into Leia's pants).
4. Captain Abilities: Hard to say, Han is definetly the better pilot, but we didn't see him leading a crew all that much. Then again, he did make it to the rank of General, so he must have some leadership skills. I'll call this one a toss-up.

You know, I love them both. I was obsessed with Star Wars in the past, before the terrible prequels dried up my enthusism, but I can't really blame Han for the prequels...
Yeah, I'm sorry but I just love them both! I could not chose because they're very different, even though they have a similar "pirate" vibe to them. They're both near and dear to my heart in their own special ways.

I know the feeling and with regard to the actuall subject of this thread
1 looks: I am a guy and therefore can't really comment on this but I know one thing Mal's coat is Much cooler
2 wisecracks: again Mal wins and how couldn't he with such lines as: that sounds like the alliance, unite all the planets under one rule so everyone can be interferred with or ignored equally
3 Heroicness: Han what with returning to save Luke at the death star
4 captainy abilities: Mal, he stayed with Serenity even though it wasn't likely that anyone would find them
so overall the winner is *opens envelope* oh well this is a comeplete surprise, the winner is MAL * much cheering*
it's my insanity that keeps me sane hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
