sameertia--
It's been said many times that the whole point is to produce a spike in sales on June 23rd. In order to do that, we need to decide during which 24 hour period we are going to make the purchases.
As stated above, there is a lot to be gained by buying the DVDs from Universal. They are who we need to impress with our unity and purchasing power, so why not buy directly from them?
Also notice in my above post that I suggest that people buy from local stores on their local June 23rd if they can not buy from Universal directly.

Since every sale will eventually reach Universal, does it even matter where we get it?
Originally I suggested amazon, but someone (I think 11th Hour) convinced me that it was a bad idea to stick it to the little shop nice guy like that by buying from the big shop faceless guy.
So now I say, just get it any way you can. I'm gonna buy several copies that day from several sources, including the Kraut and Aussie amazon (Hope they got the tin box back in store by then) and at least one local store, preferrably a small one (but most of those don't even have Serenity).
All of those sales will get noticed at Universal.
Some of us can't order from Amazon, some can't go to local stores. Let's not miss a single DVD sale because someone couldn't log on to amazon that day or something. People just get excitable as to choice - like to have their options open.
Amazon or Universal's website should get plenty of orders either way, since I am 100% positive there won't be enough copies in stores for all of us, anyways, and I'm also sure I won't be the only one who buys more than one copy that day.
June 23rd is like our personal spring break - Browncoats Gone Wild! You'll find yourself buying more copies than you wanted soon enough, believe you me.
So my vote goes for EVERYWHERE YOU CAN, but if you get more than one copy, one should be ordered off amazon or Universal.

Hi.
I just want to make a small comment.... in terms of slogans I understand the need for a unified respose, and for the mai nwebsite... one slogan would be sufficent(Kaele and Max.... whats his/her name lol can decide), but I dont see why ... different people in their signatures should have the same slogan. They can have different versions of it and they can suit it to their desires. Whats important is to have the website link in the signature. So have one slogan for the main website, and allow people to play around to suit their needs the slogan in their signatures.

I understand the point that was made about spiking sales by only buying on one day, hence the date. However, I think that time-zones won't matter.
If I buy in London on June 23rd- the sale still files as being on June 23rd, even though technically West Coast time it's only the 22nd. That is the report that Universal will see- Sales recorded on the 23rd in India, Japan, or Australia will still show as being sold on the 23rd. Am I making sense?
If not, no big thing. It's too small a thing to quibble about. I just wouldn't like to see our Australia counterparts staying up all night to get that Pacific coast time sale in, or just blowing it off because it IS the middle of the night.
As for slogan, that debate is still raging, but I still like the one I posted the very first night we started this discussion-

"The browncoats unite" implies that it's a war veteran meeting or a fan convention or something, surely an insider thing ("THEY unite, what's that got to do with me?"), whilst "One army of browncoats" indicates there's obviously lots of people with a plan bound on doing something big.

And Ertia feels compelled to say it, one more time, because she's kinda like Mal in that she doesn't know when to quit.
One Plan,One Army of Browncoats is just a little too reminescent of Nazi Brownshirts. YES, I understand that BROWNCOATS won't see the reference, but if we go plastering it all over every bulletin board in existance, OTHER PEOPLE are going to see and THEY are going to care.
Sorry, I pretty much live over at "Highlander-Community"= They are smart, they are educated, and they know their history. (Duh, we're Immortal!) One Plan, One Army of Browncoats is more like to get me banned than it is for people to ask what it's about.
Are peeps really that ignorant around here that they can't see how others might take the statement?

Can I ask who's in charge of the T-shirts? Because I have a CafePress shop in which I am planning to make Serenity/Firefly Day shirts, mugs, buttons, stickers, etc. http://www.cafepress.com/reunification
I've fashioned a sort of logo with a firefly and the Chinese for "unity", but if anyone has a better idea, I'm taking suggestions, requests, hell, even orders, for anything people want me to put on any kind of merchandise. I'm not all that creative on my own, so any ideas would be great.
And is anyone making posters already?
Oh, and on the subject of the name, I'm quite a big fan of "Re-Unification Day" which I've seen some other places. Merchandise will bear that name until I am notified of a definite title.

Ok, one complaint. Why are we starting with "One movie". Isn't the plan to have MORE than one movie? And I don't think anyone's given up on hope for a series...or at least, refer to it as one 'verse, because I'm pretty sure we're not picky as to format right about now. :)
...how about we just cut all of that out and just say that on June 23rd, the Browncoats Unite. I think on that at least, we can agree on. :P

Did anyone ever consider about asking a neutral party what they thought? Someone who is not a Browncoat maybe? Someone who doesn't know who the Browncoats are? You know, see what they think the first time they read one of those slogans. We shouldn't just go on guessing how people would react.
If no one wants that then we should vote on that too. Or just let the General make the decision and we all learn to live with it.
Either way, whatever you want, Browncoats will probably back you up! This event is too important for fights and disagreements about this!
