I believe that the resin models cost about $80 on Ebay from the last time this came up. If you want a practical piece I don't know where you'd go. I bought a Colt 1851 Navy as a "close enough" gun for a Browncoat costume.

Yeah, there are no "practical" ones on the market I'm afraid. I've looked into having a brass shell made to go around a smith revolver, but for the time being the cost is prohibitive and I just have other things taking precendence.

Eventually, though.

The percussion revolvers from the US Civil War era are as close as you're gonna find readily available in the market. I think the Remington 1858 is closest to the grip profile, so long as it stays in the holster.

For the resin casts, you can't do better than Phil's over on RPF. :)
