Nope. Guess we Northerners are just eternally humped.

I'm right there with you. I'd love a convention - ANY convention somewhere in the northeast. I live in NH, and I'd be able to qualify going about as far as NYC for a convention. But how 'bout Boston, even? Somewhere that doesn't require a plane ticket?!

Keep on flyin'

Boo-ruttin-hoo! I live in Texas. It's half a continent to either coast where the big events happen. But here in Texas we learn to get in our cars and drive for days--and that's just to get to the grocery store!

No kidding! I can't believe there aren't any other big conventions near Chicago- where I am- or out in the Northeast for you guys.
Are all the Firefly fans in the South and on the West coast?

Being in the mid atlantic east coast SUCKS!! I've always wanted to go to the Flanventions but they've always been too far away! Yet another reason to dislike MD!!

People... this is what frequent flyer miles are for.

One reason the Flanventions are in LA is that it's the center of the film industry. If you want to get a bunch of actors to be guests at your con, it's a lot easier if you hold it on their turf.

I don't disagree on any particular point.

I live in MD and went to the first FLANVENTION. I plan to go again in December. It's nice to get a break from the cold weather and get to see the BDH's in person!

Last time I flew was via Southwest out of BWI. Pretty cheap deal.
