I love this idea. The attention needs to go towards Universal, because they are the ones who control the rights to our 'verse at the moment. We can forget about Fox for now, or even Sci-fi for that matter, because no TV show can be made until Universal gives up the rights. That means we need to fight for a sequel to the BDM. We need to purchase the Serenity DVDs, considering they are ranked 32 on Amazon while the box set is 14. The BDM needs more support. That is why I think a world wide date when BDM sales spike tremendously would gain a lot of attention towards the making of a sequel.

And if we are also going to continue the letter warfare, it all needs to be directed toward Universal. We need non-stop bombardments of letters there until it reaches the point where they need to hire someone to specifically read mail about Serenity and have his own room to store it all in. That's how much attention we need to get at Universal. They are the ones who must know that we want more and are willing to fight for it.

The problem is, I for one don't know who to write to at Universal and I assume others don't also. If anyone knows this would be a great thing to spread about. We need to create a presence at Universal, and buying the BDM and letter warfare are the best ways to do it.

This joining together of the fans is such a great - and much-needed - idea. After seeing the movie in the theater, converting all my friends and some family, and buying as many copies of the BDM I could afford on release date, I was starting to feel that lately, I haven't been doing much of...well, anything. Mainly because I didn't know what to do anymore.

A concentrated effort will get attention, and, of course, the more copies of the DVD that sell, the better.

I'm in! WHOOOOOO!

I think we should also stage a letter-writing campaign that day. Imagine what Universal would do if they go 20,000 letters on the same subjet on the same day. I know we're talking about focusing on them, but what if the new CW network, Fox (:expactorate on the ground at the thought:), and Sci Fi all got 20,000 letters? Wouldn't that be something? We should definitely coordinate this with the fans on the other boards. I only visit this one (I used to got to the Universal board, but this one feels more like home. I love you guys.) I know there have to be a few thousand fans there that aren't here. And we all know people that are fans that don't do the board thing, like my wife for example. Imagine if we could get 30 or even 40,000 people to participate? That's probably the most letters they've ever gotten in one day.

One thing we'd need ot do is check the postal routes to make sure that our letters all get there on the same day.

What do you guys think?

Right on. I'll get to work on that when it gets closer. Probably around the first of June. If you know people on the other boards then talk it up.

Imagine what Universal would do if they go 20,000 letters on the same subjet on the same day.

I think that's a great idea! That would signal the fans' numbers, dedication, and ability to mobilize, which equals sales to folks like Universal. Maybe also with a note on our dedication to and success at making more fans, which would equal greater revenues for a sequel.

There was talk of this event lasting two day's earlier, this would suit me as i'm in the UK and the post is a bit shoddy. I cannot be sure as to the arival time (to the day) for any letters.
write on

Simon:"If the battle was so horrible, why did he name the ship after it?"
Zoe:"Once you've been in serenity you never leave"

I'm in! I voted. This ties in so perfectly with the Serenity screenings and Joss Whedon's birthday. What a day he's going to have!

Love the letter writing campaign. It might be good if we came up with an official letter that we coud just print and send. This is the time for one clear message, not personal venting. What do you think?

I'd love to work on this with anyone who's interested.

Let me know.
