The pirate from Out of Gas. He was a very bad man it would have been good to see him again. We all thought he was gonna help Mal but then he shot our hero in the stomach. I really expected to see him again as he was so cool and so bad :)

I guess he's one of those characters you could have seen fleshed out in season 2. He would have been a very good adversory for Mal. He's like Mal but he crosses the line where Mal has good moral values :)

And dead handsome to boot! I'm sure if the series had held he would have turned up sooner or later.

lol. yeh he's like a bad version of Mal. He came on board with a big guy like Jayne and a fighting woman like Zoe. They all looked bad.lol. Like the opposite of Serenity. They all had red sashes and looked like pirates. Absolutely brilliant. I thought they where so cool and I think we would have seen them again :)

I like to think that the red cummerbund was affected by Alliance irregulars in the recent conflict, and that we could have had the start of a Josey Wales-like riff.

My DVD boxset is out on loan so I can't check this,
but I always thought the guy being tortured by Niska in "War Stories"
in the beginning was the same Pirate capt. in "Out of Gas." Anybody can confirm?

No, but I can deny - unless Johnny Shakespeare was a replacement for the unavailable Steven Flynn.

Aaaaah I like that, the red sash represents the alliance (josey Wales, fantastic film). So he was on the same side as Mal? As I said he was the same guy as Mal but with very much looser morals. It would have been great to see more of him and his crew, I bet Joss would have thrown him into more stories later on. A perfect bad guy, A perfect adversory for Mal :)
