I know this is most likely a futile exercise, but it's still FUN!!!
I want to see what all the shiny new recruits will do with this, so...
BUMP!
Antireaver - are you still keeping score?

$150, in a heartbeat.
If I had a steady job, wasn't in University, etc. etc., I'd probably give more.

I'd go £50. Definitely.
What exactly are we using this cash for?

Id be willing to give £100 / $175 per episode.
Supply and Demand, we want Firefly, were willing to pay for Firefly, give us what we want!

$250 a season.

If I had some time to save up (like a few months) I'd personally give $100 every season also.

Your mind and mine are on the same wavelength, I swear! (And you have my sympathies.)
I was planning on coming home today and starting a new thread, the upshot of which was 'let's have a Firefly telethon'.
You know: Get SciFi to run it from one of Universal's soundstages, maybe even trot BDM-BT ('Big Damn Mid-Bulk Transport') Serenity out of mothballs and do it from the cargo hold; dancing Reavers for entertainment or turning numbers on 'The Big Damn Tally Board'. The cast and creators could personally answer phones and take pledges.
Just to make it fun, 'fine' Joss $50 every time he uses the word 'feet' -- or a derivation thereof -- in conversation.
Nathan could emcee. ...except all the fems would want to talk to him on the phone, so we might have to think about that a little more; maybe rotate the emcee job every segment?
SciFi could do it the next time they have a Firefly marathon. Do little cut-ins to the telethon on commercial breaks, 2 or 3 times an hour (where they would normally run a promo or PSA, so it wouldn't cost 'em ad revenues).
Even if they just mocked it up (i.e., no real money changing hands, 'cuz I'm fairly certain the FCC would disapprove), it'd be a unique promotional idea. But make the phones live, ya dig?
Oh, and -- just in case anyone from SciFi/Universal/Vivendi/NBC are reading this and thinking it sounds attractive -- be sure and get lots of phone lines. To paraphrase Stilgar from D. Lynch's "Dune", you're about to get Flan-sign, "the likes of which even God has never seen"...
Better get some interpreters too. We're multinational, we've got cell phones, and Firefly news spreads at the speed of light. (NB: Well, '~C' to the pole, depending on infrastructure quality, server load and routing).
It'd be cool if they could do it for real, because we'd have enough to finance at least another movie by the end of the day. But at least TPB would be able to judge the demand for a new series/movie. Hell, I'd stay home from work on the day just for a chance to talk to Morena, and the rest of the day off for my inevitable rush to the ER...
Jerry Lewis-ly,
zoid
P.S.
Yo, SciFi! As an aside, how about y'all start the next Firefly marathon so that it ends with "Objects in Space", fer a change?
