Okay...so the Anne on Angel is Sorrel/Lilly/Anne from Buffy?

Cause if not they sure look an awful lot alike. The voice sounds a bit different though.

Yup. At the end of the Buffy episode, "Anne," where she first appears, she asks if, now that Buffy is going back to Sunnydale, she can be Anne. I always liked that they brought her back as Anne without directly referencing the Buffy episode.

yup, in buffy season two ('lie to me') she was called Chanterelle (it's nice...it's a mushroom.. it is? well that's really embarrasing)
then lilly, then anne

this has always been one of my fav character arcs, because, like CaptBaggytrousers said, on angel they never told us who she was (that this was the same girl) it was purely one for the 'insiders', i love that

like with cecily and halfrek on buffy, they just gave us that one line ("william?") and left it up to us to figure it out
