I'm sorry I have to take this out on you, but it is my major pet peeve. one cannot be OCD, one has OCD. And OCD does not equal germophobia.

"The people who made the show, and the people who saw the show, which is roughly the same number of people, fell in love with it, a little bit too much to let it go, too much to lay down arms when when the battle looked pretty much lost. In Hollywood, people like that are called unrealistic, quixotic, obsessive... In my world, they're called Browncoats."

I'm a shower man, that's where I have my best ideas.
Embarrassingly, I only take baths now when I'm blind drunk.
Last time was after 3/4's of a bottle of OP rum (henceforth to be referred to as 'The Devil')
I sat down in the tub, then promptly threw up in it, and was too far-gone to get out again, so I fell asleep.
Oh yeah, now there is a truly wonderful image.

Maybe I’m just paranoid but I could swear I smelt like casserole for the next week.

Baths are for reading, writing, and daydreaming after a long day. They are for thick lavender scented bubbles, glasses of sweet white wine, and the Serenity soundtrack on the stereo. They are wind-down, relax, get-away-from-it-all time. They are also "spa-time" -cucumber face masks, those silly three-step foot-care treatments, etc.
Baths are for healing and rejuvenating.
Showers are far more active. Hair washing and conditioning-(I have butt-length hair. It's a major operation!) I use showers for "working" singing- scales, rep excercises, any difficult pieces I'm working on- Everyone around me knows I sing well and they think it comes naturally. I'd hate to disillusion them by practicing when it's not garbled by the sounds of pouring water!

I am so incredibly in synch with SameErtia here.
Except that I don't sing (yeeesh, gods no, nobody wants that), but I do think about things. Mainly writing plots, or real life problems I'm trying to sort through.
Great epiphanies happen in the shower, showers are about renewal and refreshment.
Baths are for relaxing and indulgence, easing away troubles both physical and emotional.

Mainly a shower person myself.
In the shower I either sing (only when theres no-one in the house lol, sitll can't get the Firefly theme song out my head) or I sortof turn my mind off and then suddenly out of the blue I remember/come up with solutions to problems and have ideas for stuff im working on.
I remember one time I came up with the answers for some questions I got wrong in an exam a year ago it was wierd.

ah, sadly I appear to live in the only huse in the world without a shower, So I have to take baths, so bathing for me has become about getting as clean as I possibly can in a bath and then getting to work, relaxing baths are a thing of the past, woe is me
*sniff*
I want a shower!

Well excuuuuuuuuuse me! How is it there's a know-it-all on every message board that has nothing better to do than correct others? Looks like you're the one with OCD.

I sing in the shower. Alot. I try to keep it down so as not to disturb my family members but I sometimes forget. I have always loved to sing. I don't really think much when in the shower. I just like feeling the hot water run over me and the singing is spontanious.
I rarely get to take a bath :(
The tub attached to our shower is not suitable to bathe anyone larger than a slim 10 year old. I am 5ft 10in and overweight.
I do like baths when I can get them however. I've always wanted to use my aunts bath. It's one of those deep jacuzie numbers. It's also about 6ft long because my aunt is about 6ft tall. That means you can immerse your whole badoy in a nice hot bath and not have your knees sticking in the air.

I've done that before, especially on really cold days. The building I work in has a large theatre and an auditorium in it. Unfortunately it also only has one thermostat, which means my little 12 X 12 office gets the same blast of cold air that the 2,000 seat auditorium gets. Shiver. That means it's around 50-55 degrees in my workspace. My fingers get pretty numb. So a lot of times in the winter when I get home I'll fill up the tub to boiling and hop in a digest a nice book. I like it hot, you know, like when you get out there's a line at your shoulders where the water was. Below that you look like a lobster. That's the tops.
Unfortunately, most of the time, it's nothing but a quick shower before work, and a quick shower after the gym or run. Sigh....
