Yes, great news.

I wonder if my friend will mind me borrowing his 24" HD Tv, surely not.

Yeah, that is if HD-DVD becomes the prevailent format. But it's still looking like Blu-Ray will win out and HD will go the way of beta, VHS, 8-tracks and UMD's.

'Versal should get on the Blu-Ray bandwagon pretty quickly.

I don't have an HD TV, but I'm gonna buy this anyways, of course! Any version of Firefly or Serenity they throw my way, I catch and tip the pitcher. It's also a good way to spend money on Serenity, so it's kind of charity. I wonder if I can deduct it from my taxes.
It'll be interesting to see how many browncoats are gonna buy this although they don't even have HD. If Serenity were to shoot into the Top Ten HD DVD sales and stay there for a while, who knows what might happen.

I'm deeply disappointed that NPR dissed Serenity. Of only 4 hd's released, they could have named all 4. they named 3. guess which one they didn't mention? what do you wanna bet it's because they considered not in the same category as the others? Time mentioned it at least, in this week's article on the hd format wars.

Why do I kill a thread every time i post???

So who's *seen* the new HD serenity- what's it like? reach-in-touchable, or just extra crisp?

I've watched it at least twice now and the picture quality is *very* sharp - every detail is there, especially with the special effects. The only reason I really got the HD-DVD player was because of Serenity. It was worth every penny.
