Don´t worry – I was just kidding.
And I could use a dictionary myself - dammit.
So again. A shiny welcome from one newbie to another. Enjoy.

Actually, I was wondering if 'Firefly' was dubded in many European Countries...
Mal talking portugese, or italian...
That must sound really ... weird!

I’m from Dublin Ireland.

Who do you suppose is in there?

Hello, Arya and Haze!
I've been to Brussels, and regret deeply I've never been to Ireland. I saw Ireland glowing green through gaps in clouds while flying over it and thought it must be beautiful. (Californians don't see much natural green until Winter, when rain brings the weeds up.)
Belgium I remember particularly for food. We were eating our way through Europe, more or less, though it was supposed to be an Art and Culture tour. So -- cuisine can be artistic, too.
And the drinking.... but we were very young, then, and resilient.

Yeah, we do have alot of fine beers here!
The most popular is called 'Duvel' or in English 'The Devil'. So resiliency is a must.
Haven't been to Ireland yet, but they say it's beautiful.
I have been to California and Oklahoma. Seen all the sights and parcs.
I stayed with a American-Korean family (mother Korean, father navy-veteran) and they were all into tofu and seaweed ...
I lost 8 kilo's in 2 weeks!
(How much is that, about 17 pounds?)

you have no idea... knowing what they are going to say in english and hearing it in italian with a complete different voice is hilarious, and they didn't keep the chinese words so it sounds kinda flat...

I had planned to ask you about the level of the translation into Italian.
There is translation, and there is Translation.
A plain hack job renders the basic meaning of the lines (one hopes), but real translation brings in all the nuances, and Whedonspeak in SereniFly is often far from standard English. Not only does JW use his bleep-avoiding Mandarin, and "gorram" etc. but he also uses archaic words and constructions, and there is abundant slang.
For an easy example, in Serenity during the Lilac robbery, Mal refers to what they are doing as a "heist," which I'd call old-fashioned criminal slang for "robbery." In the Italian, is that translated into an old-fashioned criminal slang expression, or is it a standard modern Italian word?

I'm from the North East of England -- currently living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, about fifteen miles from the place I was originally born. Small town. Looks kind of like Mud Farmer Central. Honestly.
My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Welcome, Arya! I'm glad you're here and glad to hear that you're so excited about Firefly. (Have you been able to watch the movie yet? If so, what did you think?)
I continue to be amazed and pleased by the diverse folks in the 'verse.

I'm from California, Piedmont to be exact. That's in the San Francisco Bay Area near Berzerkely and completely surrounded by Oakland. Welcome to all the new folks! (I've only been here a day myself) :)
