Like I have nothing else better to do, but I was tinkering with my Sprint PCS Vision phone and came up with the idea of creating Firefly wallpapers for the little thing. If anyone is interested, I'll create a few for people to download onto their phones.

Hi Haken, I have a Sprint PCS vision phone and I'd be interested in saving Firefly pics of Nathan Fillion sans the attire, laying on a sofa, or you know...regular FF stuff.

Kinda. I was just tinkering. I have a Samsung A500, so the image is formatted at 128x112. Don't know if you can use that. If you give me the model of your phone, I can resize the image to match its resolution.

Anyway, try this:

When you get the text message, extract the URL then go to it, at that point your phone should proceed to download the image. I use mine as a wallpaper. Looks pretty awesome seeing the Serenity on that little screen.

If you have a particular image you are interested in, let me know and I can create it for you.

When I have time to hack more code, I'll make it possible for you to upload your own pictures to your phone.

Now, if someone has a midi of the Firefly theme, I can make it a downloadable ringtone. That'll be cool.

Anyway, try it and let me know.

Hello Haken,

Thank you for responding to me. Before I try the link you posted, I want to give you additional information on what type of phone I am using. I have a Sanyo 8100 model camera phone. In response to what kind of picture you can create for me, I would like to have one of Cpt. Mal Reynolds wearing his duster, his holster and his boots...ONLY.

That's a color phone. It might be possible to do the same with your Motorola. I'll research it.

I'm only guessing here, but if you have a Motorola and can get on the net with your phone. You should be able to WAP browse and load the following page:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/motojayne.wml

I tested the page on a WAP emulator and it loads up with the following image. Don't know if you can extract it as is or whether I need to send a link to you through MMS.

In any case, see if you can load the WML page on your phone and grab the image that way.

You should see the following on your phone:

It's formatted at 120x160, which is what your phone can handle.

It worked!! Oh my stars and garters!! I was able to place Serenity on my phone as wallpaper! I am the absolute happiest woman on the planet at this moment (unless of course there is some nice young lady playing doctor with the Cappy - well then she better be the happiest or I'll just have to take her place)!!

You are just so awesome I'm gonna cry!!

I was not able to find a midi of the theme but I did find a place with a wav file. Know how to convert? The site is http://www.wavsite.com/television.asp? I will hunt and hunt for a midi so I can have the theme as a ringtone.
