Some of you may be interested in watching the new Star Wars cartoons. These 5-minute cartoons are being shown every night (this week and next) on the Cartoon Network.

Free downloads of all the eps here:
http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/microseries/chapter/

Currently, only Chapter 1 is available for download but soon more will be. Requires Quicktime 6.0.

I think it's pretty cool. The artwork kind of reminds me of Capt. Baggy Trouser's stuff. The story is supposed to be about what happens between Episodes 2 and 3.

Bleh... felt like a trailer for a story, not a story itself. And I can't say I'm a big fan of the animation style- too jerky for me, and the characters don't really look like their live-action counterparts. Palpatine looks like something out of Aeon Flux. I think I read somewhere it's done by the guy who made Samuri Jack, which I never really got into.

Don't like the animation style?! It's Genndy, man!

I love it, but I'm also a huge fan of the excellent Samurai Jack cartoon by the same team of creators.

Personally, I think this is the best Star Wars related thing since Return of the Jedi debuted waaaay back in 1983.

PS: I still say Annakin turns evil because of all the teasing he gets about that lame haircut.

...elite ninja clonetroopers? Stop me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the very nature of cloning imply that there aren't really any elite ones, 'cause they're all the same.

yes, and no....
they all started from the same blueprint, but, their DNA's were tinkered with to speed growth, better intelegence, extreme loyalty, etc, anything to make them "better" soldiers, including more specialized abilites , for different trainings, so you could have all the differnent specialized or elite ranks like our militaries, as well as the grunts, diffenrence is thies guys have been trained for their specific tasks from birth.

So what stops you from cloning an army of elite ninjas?

well, nothing really, you very well could, but you would still have to train them in the martial arts of course.

but why go to all that trouble, (tracking down an appropriate person, getting their DNA, etc...) if you ve allready got a good, hardy, template, and all you need to do is make a few genetic modifications, which is apparently relatively simple for the kaminoans (why build a whole new website, when you could achieve just as good of results just by tweaking the original code a bit?)
