Who's your favourite Character?

I've been in love with Nathan since his days on One Life To Live, so Mal's my first choice.But I do tend to relate to River the most. Otherwise,I couldn't pick a favorite ,even with Vera aimed at me.They all have their endearing qualities making it impossible for me to choose.

Tough one, like all the other responses here I have my reasons for liking one over the others in certain situations.
Overall, though, I think it would have to be Mal. I know that he's the hero and I supposed to say that, but it's still true. He's the one I identify with the most.
I will, though, have to give Simon a vote for my favorite funny person. The deadpan irony of his humor is perfection for me. I love it. "Could you not do that while we're...EVER?!" Sublime.

without any doubts and great descicionproblems... WASH!!!! ... i just luuuuv his lines... i've watched the whole series a thousand times and i still break out in tears on this dinosaur-"this laaaand"-scene.... its just hilarious

MAL - Just the perfect all round goodish guy ;-)
Jayne - run's a very close second.
Kayleigh - because she's Kayleigh.
Although to be honest as a pack I think they roll of each other perfectly.
My son has just watched the boxset ( he's on holiday ) and said afterwards that although the show is very good none of the main characters get killed. Why has it been cancelled ect. So I gave him Serenity to watch, he loved the film but wants to know how they can bring back the seris with two main characters forever missing and two good ones he said.
Now for an 18 year old he has been quite succinct in pointing out that Book had plenty of potential for stories/flash backs ect. Wash on the other hand was his favourite character ( something about a silly moustache)and he couldn't understand the logic of the deaths.
I think he now understands people's literal love of this show and also understands that all the characters made the show.
He still wants to know how it can be brought back without the two characters. I had no answer and have yet to read a good one. I'm just glad he's not 13 anymore, that would have been a good conversation to have.

Wash. Hands down Wash. He is pretty much why I love firefly. The plot and other characters are awesome but his one liners and funny little...comments just put the show over the top and literally make me laugh out loud, so does Mal though but Wash for sure. I saw the BDM before the seires and when I drew closer and closer to OiS I got very sad 'cause I knew that all that was left was Serenity, a movie in which my favorite character meets an unfortunate end to a plank of wood...

Inara, and I have no idea why. For some reason, I just "get" her more than the other characters, or at least I think I do.
My second would be a tie between Mal and River. Mal, because... well, I don't know to explain to you guy. You understand. River, because she is probably the most interesting character on the show just in terms of how she thinks.
It goes without saying (which is of course why I'm saying it) that I love them all, though.

Potentially my favourite character is a tough call. Mal is my evil twin, my heart belongs to Kaylee, and I keep dreaming about making out with River. But I'm a real sucker for girls in coveralls, so I guess Kaylee takes the cake.
