To add to that, maybe I'm just a moron but when I start up the DVDs, I can't see ANY commentaries for any of the episodes. How the heck do you select them? Am I being a total blind idiot?

no, a lot of people have trouble...
go to 'language'
and if there is a commentary it will be listed there.
it is a dumb place to hide them, but they did that on some of the BtVS DVDs too....
enjoy! there are some fun commentaries (my favorite is 'Objects in Space' but the pilot episode is wonderful also)

Quite right, just go to the episode then instead of clicking on play episode click on language options then click on the appropriate commentary audio track. They are quite good. Objects in space is a bit odd with just Joss talking about the existential philosophy behing the episode but the commentaries by Nathan, Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite are highly amusing. Just wish I could find the commentary for safe.

In the "War Stories" commentary, Nathan and Alan make a lot of jokes. There are smart remarks about Simon and River spending a lot of time together, though brother and sister, then one of the guys says something to the effect of "that's in the commentary for Safe" and I've assumed it was a joke. If there's another reference to a commentary for Safe I missed it or assumed it was the same kind of thing.
Would be nice to have one, though, wouldn't it? Sean and Summer, preferably.

Did they talk about a commentary for Safe? I thought they were just kind of jabbing that whole backwater moon and how... uncivilized it was. the sort of place you would expect a few sibling "relationships" and other redneck activities like witch burnings.
Wouldn't it be great, though, if every ep had a commentary? I'd love to hear something from the actors that didn't get on any of them. Gina, Summer, Sean, and Ron (did I miss anyone?) I think that would be a lot of fun.
They should do some "post-movie" commentary just in general; because I love the commentary but it really frustrates me when Joss is doing it and says something like "I never got to go into this, but I'm not going to talk about it because I hope to be able to explore it later on" Only, you know, one movie wasn't enough for everything because he just (seemingly) wanted to wrap up River's story and the conspiracy and everything which is great but lacks those details.
Anyway, no, I don't think there's an available Safe commentary anywhere. Not that I know of. Sadness.

I'd like an Adam Baldwin commentary for Jaynestown. Adam Baldwin and Sean Maher/Alan Tudyk/Nathan Fillion, even better.

Oh, how'd I forget Adam? That'd be so shiny! Jaynestown is high on my list of favorites! I think Adam, Summer and Ron would be good for that one. River has some of the best lines ever in that episode!*************************************************

Some of my favorite episodes didn't get any commentaries. I was so disappointed.
Safe, Ariel, Jaynestown.
Would love to see Sean, Summer and Adam do some commentaries for those.
Wonder if its too late to beg for commentaries for all episodes?
Maybe when they have a new season in the can....:)
