I read it out of Beyond Good & Evil. It's latin I believe. I might be wrong. It translates to "Good and bad women want a stick." For some reason I laughed out loud while reading it. It's in the part of the book where he just gives random phrases sort of like confucius. His views on women are quite complex and contradictive, but funny and interesting nontheless.
Edit: Wait, I think it is Italian. I also think I remember it being one of his favorite Italian quotes. I have no idea where he got it from. I could be wrong on either way.
"Buona Femmina e Mala Femmina Voul Bastone." - Friedrich Nietzsche

I thought that's what it meant!
I still can't figure out what verb he's conjugating. I think want and desire should be "desiderano". Who knows about that guy.
Thanks for replyin'

yeah, there was something wrong with that interviewer. It's wet noodles like that that remind why they seem so overly animated and "chummy" when you see an interview on E! or something...
It's a conversation, dude. There's a little thing called "give" and "take" you might wanna look into ;p
Though to be fair, maybe he was a Browncoat and getting star struck. Certainly more eloquent than I've ever managed in my very limited experience with celebrities. (mumuwha jibber jabber... I liked your movie heh heh... ok I'll be going now :)

Nuclearday. Face it. You're a fanboy. You have every right to be star-struck.
Did you read the story about the dude who does "Into the Black", and randomly ended up having drinks with Nathan Fillion all night? (Nathan was wearing a coat. His coat was sort of a brown-ish color. Maybe he got it on discount)
This guy is supposed to be a professional. Didn't he sound just sound bored and uninspired? Nathan made the whole interview. How is it this goomba gets a whole list of questions to ask the Cap'n, which i would do almost anything for? Some people would kill for that much time with Nathan.
You ever been to one of Nathan's signing? Alot of the women look like they've found the ultimate shrimp buffet after a visit to Ethiopia.

Still, I'm proud of ya Cap'n. Ya did the best you could.
PS: Maybe if i'd been on E!, literally, i would have liked the interviewer. Otherwise he stunk.

Yeah, I s'pose you're right, aztechrome ;p Any fan worth his 'coat coulda shored up a bit more enthusiasm. (Gimme a hefty stack of stock questions for Jewel or any one of our lovely ladies
, and I'd at least have the courtesy to keep my fainting off-camera.)
Try an' see the bright side, huh, and here comes mean old mister reality with the spiky truth-stick to smack ya upside the head
Went back to the site, and looked up the rest of BDH's just for kicks, and those went a good sight better, too. You know, like they actually seemed to be listening to their responses and the like? So it's not just their way of doing things. Just the one guy.
So... do we find out who he was and start bulk-mailing the smallish droppings of black market beagles for not paying proper homage? Or do we rest easy in the knowledge that there's always room for one more in the special hell?

Ya know.
I went in and checked out some of the interviews with the BDH's. You're right. There was sort of an interesting thing called "dialogue" that was happening in them.
I don't know if this is old news or not, but I REALLY liked the interview with Jewel and Adam. Adam did most of the talking, but I couldn't believe how Jewel totally knocked me out through a crappy internet grade recording.
I wonder what she's like in real life?
Edit: I wouldn't care to speculate on the special hell, for two reasons.
A) I WOULD take advantage.. (stupid sexy space pirate)
B) I talk at movie theatres. I even talked at "Slither". *Shhhhhh*

Yeah, guess who the first BDH I looked up was.
And yup, I think I pretty much had the same reaction. (I vaguely remember there was some sort of man-ape gone-wrong thing sitting next to Jewel, but oddly I had trouble paying attention to that side of the screen. :)________________________________________________

It's italian but actually it's 'Vuol Bastone' and it basically means: (Good and bad)women need to be beaten. And that kinda explains why Nietzsche ain't one of my favourite.
For those thinkin' "who the ò*&% is this?, I'm new around here, just registered few minutes ago although I've wanted to for a couple weeks now.
I discovered Firefly only recently, since it aired on SatTV here in Italy, and I fell for it, but bad (ordered my DVD's an'all in a matter of days...)
I checked the world map and found no italians on it, well... you can count at least my little self... that is...if you want to, of course.
As for the interview, I'm at work now at it wouldn't be very dignified of me to talk to the PC the way I do at home, so I'll watch it tonight...

Eh, Harrison Ford wanted Han Solo to die in the Return of the Jedi.
Han did die at the end of RotJ.
He got married.
Didn't you see his corpse, propped up against Leia like a safari trophy, with a rictus of a smile plastered across its lips?
As to the interview: I'm gonna say it was done in a vacant hotel meeting room at about 4 o'clock in the morning. The windows are dark, and Nathan clearly has 'morning hair' (lots of scratching), so I don't think it's dark because the sun has set. He's also having a hard time finding the precise word he wants (caffeine withdrawal).
In conclusion, I think it's too damn early, there was no (suitable) coffee, he needed a shower to wake up, and there's a moron interviewing him like it's the Bataan Death March. "That was mildly amusing, and we're moving on to the next question, now."
At one point the interviewer actually replies "Right on". Right-freaking-on?!? What time capsule did they get this guy out of? And it wasn't even a exclamation; more like a place holder for "Hmmm, I see. ...Anyways...". Sort of dismissive.
I think Nathan wasn't firing on all eight cylinders, and the interviewer was only aggravating the situation. One of the rare times I've seen Nathan look anything like emotionally dishonest is when he smiles and shakes the guy's hand afterward...
Respectfully,
zoid

Thanks for playing "fill in the verb".
I guess you're the official Firefly ambassador to Italy. The job's open if you want it...
I think we were getting sort the wrong idea. Too bad it wasn't a joke. You know, he does joke sometimes. Nietzsche's also a bastard sometimes. *shrugs*
I wouldn't have gotten "beaten" out of it. Is voul from "violate" or something. What's the infinitive?
You seem to have thought about your opinion on Nietzche. That's all one can ask. I still think that there are things to be learned from him, even if the writing is older and less controversial now.
