you have now idea how lucky you are i live in The UK. and like shooting.
most guns are band in the UK. self loading rifels in 1988 after one Dick head went on a rampage in hungorford. and pistols in 1997 after a one person walked in to a school and guned down 16 childern. the gun laws were already tight. if you like shooting sports in the UK your treated as the lowest of the low.
1 person comitted terrable acts. and 55.000+ pistol shooter. had ther guns taken away.

in the uk you have no right to defend your property. and self defence is borderline illegal.
if you were attacked and the force you used is deamed excessive you get sent down for assult.

You're just plain wrong, Chuck. The propaganda artist of the worst sort would have to be Bush & Co., who did a great job scamming Americans into supporting his bullshit war.

Michael Moore defends himself from people like you here: http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/wackoattacko/

Sorry, d-tree.

"Chuck" is just Utah slang for "Regular Fellow", it's what everyone says in Salt Lake City.

"I honestly believe our gun controls are largely responsible."
Statements like these are why statisticians are often crazed, wild-haired types -- from trying to explain that the intuitive conclusion is often true only under very restricted conditions, and that the obvious link is not always the causal link. I would hazard a guess that where you live is much more homogenous in culture than is Minnesota (where I live).

Full disclosure: I am an analyst and a statistician and have a permit to carry that I only use when I go hiking in the deep woods in case I run into a predator (we have some here) or a drug dealer visiting his stash.
