Doctor Who, is anyone else watching it?

Minor stuff, but great character detail in the scene.

I'm watching it. I have to admit, though, I miss my sci-fi Fridays (HUGE SG fan, as well as BSG!), but I'm loving it so far. It's my first experience with Dr. Who as a show/movie/fandom, and I really like Christopher E. He's quite amusing.

Fortunately the original shows run between 42 and 44 minutes as it is, so SciFi doesn't cut much, maybe a minute or two. What I really hate are when shows that run a full 30 or 60 minutes in England get brought over here and have between 10 and 20 minutes cut to make time for commercials (A&E is famous for that). You can't cut a third of a program and expect it to still make sense!

Like reginaroadie, I caught it on first airing in Canada during the NHL strike and CBC needed something to air.
Though on the subject of cutting....I remember seeing that scence with Rose and the Doctor talking about their clothes from "The Unquiet Dead"....maybe CBC didn't have to edit it 
And yeah...the first couple of episodes are good but not as great as they could be. But really...a good deacade and a half break makes for occasionally rusty wheels. Once you hit the first "Dalek", things start to jell. And Capt. Jack is hiliarious...almost like Kaylee and Mal spawned a kid (horny rogue with a heart of gold).
Can't wait for season 2 and David Tennant's shot at the role this fallZ

The rumour was that Captain Jack would be in Torchwood (the upcoming Dr. Who spinoff), but I heard that a while ago and can't recall if it's been confirmed or denied.
It'll be interesting to see if Sci-Fi keeps "the kiss" in (those who've seen it will know what I'm referring to).

Plus Dr Who Season 2 (or Season twentysomething for purists) starts over here in Blightey on April 15th (and Season 3 has been greenlighted) - the hype machine is starting to roll. I don't know if you folks on the central planets* realise that this is a Big Thing over here on Earth-that-was. The BBC had the guts to pitch it as a mainstream, prime-time show (Saturday early evening on the main channel - unheard of for SF) and it paid off (the Xmas Special was pretty much the Main Event on BBC1 on Dec 25th).

Well...the CBC here in Canuckistan kept it in when it aired here back last April(CRTC surprises me again) and yeah, Captain Jack's in Torchwood along with the actress who played the possessed chambermaid in "The Unquiet Dead." Seems the best place for defending the world is Cardiff....go fig

Yes that was him.. Also the bad guy mobster in "Gone in 60 seconds" he seems to be quite a "fantastic" actor and did an awesoem job as teh 9th doctor.. I watched bootlegs from England last year as the series unfoled and it was awesome!
