I have for ome time been throwing around the idea of attending the Serenity 3 convention in London in September... just waiting to see if the idea sticks. Having just checked the website, I see that one of the guests is going to be 'Gigi Edgley' who I had never heard of (not being a Farscape fan - I can use Google). (Oh, as well as Ms Baccarin, Mr Maher, Ms Staite and Mr Sheppard.)

Can someone with some convention know-how suggest - should I book? Should I wait and see? Should I avoid?

Gigi is at the event as the MC for the weekend, not because of any Firefly connection.
Starfury events often have a "celeb" MC; the last Serenity con had Neil Roberts (from Charmed) as MC.

Thanks...
So it's a good thing.
So... should I go? (unfair question!)

Well, that's up to you! I'm going, and so are a lot of my Browncoat mates. I've been to all the Starfury events with Firefly actors at them and had a blast every time.

Don't you have to stay in a hotel for 3 days or something?

She'll turn you in before you can say "Don't turn me in...lady..."

You don't *have* to stay there. 'Course, you miss out on all the parties and drinking in the bar with the guests...

Parties? Drinking?! Guests?!!

Sounds awful, especially if there are going to be any Canadians present. I should think any sane person would want to prioritize avoidance of such an event.

I'd be more worried about the Brits than the Canadians.

We can do... things... with plastic garden furniture.

Terrible things...
