I would have to put River at the top of my list.
Yes, she definitely has issues (she is still far from issue free at the end of Serenity), but I'd have to say that the moments where River's true self shows through her tortured shell are some of the most poignant and beautiful parts of Firefly. River's dance is by far my favorite scene in all of Firefly.
Of course she is 17
in the show, but if you consider a more perfect world, one where Firefly was not canceled, River would totally by 20ish by now

Since I think it's perfectly reasonable to have a girl-crush every now and then, let me add my two cents.
1. River: River is a wonderful mix of strong and fragile, not to mention extremely intelligent. Things certainly wouldn't get boring around her.
2. Inara: Besides being drop-dead gorgeous, Inara is confident, elegant, and refined. The type of woman you are constantly in awe of. Of course, the "proper" attitude could get kind of old sometimes.
3. Kaylee: She's as cute as a button and perpetually cheerful, but I think she's more the best friend or sister type than a love interest.
4. Zoe: I love Zoe, I really do, but truth be told, she scares me. Along with everyone else on the ship. Still, there is something to be said for being with a warrior woman, har har.
At last.
We can retire and give up

I'm somewhat older than some of the BC's responding on this thread, that's why Kaylee and River are at the bottom of my list, a couple of cuties, but on the young side.

1.RIVER!!! WOOO lol dont know why but i think she is gorgeous. As any of my mates wud tell ya i am a bit obbsessed. But seriously i think she is so beautiful and i have a thing for dancers, since i used to dance myself.
2.Kaylee of course has to be very high on da list, no need to list da reasons as i am certain everyone knows them.
3.Inara...well shes a companion aint she lol shes supposed to be good at seducin people (notice i didnt say guys ;-)lol)
4.Zoe, slinky kinky Zoe lol not my type but still got to be on da list simply for the tight leather tops ;-)

i missed this thread first time around...but glad you posted it BEB.
ya know for a while after i first came to this little hidey hole, i really thought everyone here was a chick...no really, all the Mal & Jayne love talk.... and i would almost bet that the majority of browncoats here are sweet, lovely ladies.... and that's fine with me.... i am comfotable with my sexuality...!
So here goes - Zoe is now a widow and i would be the first to offer a shoulder to cry on...of course Zoe would never do that cause she is so mentally tough...which is one reason i would have to go after her first....
Kaylee would be second cause i have a feeling we would hit it off very well out in my workshop.... cars on blocks kinda thing
Inara, with all of her experience and training would be great but maybe a little less than genuine...
River...man, River....i had a girlfriend that River reminds me of (a couple years older though)....that chick was crazy....fun, but crazy....i would have to give that some serious thought...
Then there is Saffron....or Yo-Saf-Bridg.... definately a one night stand.......
i would treat them each with the love and respect they deserve (ok, that was just in case some girly girls are lurking about...but it's true...no, really....)
