Finally got around to finishing the image upload feature for the Blue Sun Room. Feel free to try it out while I tweak. Might help me catch some bugs.

Thanks for setting this up, Haken! I'm very excited to see what people post.

However, I'm trying to upload a jpeg image, and it doesn't look too good. Very fuzzy. I tried it at both 72 and 150 dpi, and neither gave me more than a blurry thumbnail. Anything I else I should try?

The thumbnails are generated automatically by my program. Don't worry about it too much. The actual image shown to people will be your original. Just upload that.

Now I want to check out some of the images in the image test. One of them looks like a page from a Firefly comic. Are these going to be posted at full size?

Oh, and uh, where'd my old pictures go?

Your old pictures are still here and I'll be adding them back. Or, now that you are able, you can repost them yourself if you want.

And looking the Niska image you posted, I understand now what you mean about the thumbnail being fuzzy--apparently caused by a bug in my program where it doesn't know how to create thumbnails that are tall. I'll have to fix that.

In the meantime, I corrected the Niska thumbnail so that it'll display correctly.

I've tried many different times, on many different days, and on two computers and I still can't get an image up.

I can get it to upload for the little preview but every time I click the button to save it to the site I get an error page.

Help. Please?

Since you were able to view the thumbnail, I suspect the problem must be with whatever it is you entered as a tile and description. What did you enter as the title for your image? What description did you enter for your image? If you provide me with what you entered, I can try replicating the problem and maybe figure out what went wrong.

"Remnants" is the title.

I actually changed the description a little every time but it's always something alone these lines:

"River fanart. I wanted to make a visual representation of River's shattered personality... or I just wanted to smush pretty pictures together. Whatever. Done in Paint Shop Pro 7. Lyrics from 'Hello' by Evanescence."

I uploaded your image okay. How fast of a connection do you have? The file you uploaded is about 100K. If you're using a dialup, it might be too slow. The error you see is the browser's way of telling you that it's taking too long waiting for a response from the website. And the reason that it's taking too long is because the file you're attempting to upload is too large for a slow connection to handle without your browser timing out.
