Update 6/25/03: We apologize for the late posting! Real life has intervened and tampered with our schedule this weekend, but we know those of you who have visited The Seeker during the past few days are wondering what the posted update notice is all about. This brief summary is being posted so that you will not be left in suspense. Here goes...
We have received definite word that a network buyer for Odyssey 5 has not been secured in the allotted time. This news is not a shock, as we all know that placement of Odyssey 5 with a traditional network was a hard sell. We have also been informed that contract options on the actors/writers are now up. Is this the end? Yes, for a network home. No, regarding other distribution channels. The good news here is that Sony’s programming department is currently in discussions with their Home Video group to put the series on DVD, and we have established a very good connection to keep us apprised of news on this front. Doing this opens up other possibilities not dictated by the networks and their scheduled seasons.
In regards to the final six episodes, the most that Sony Picture Television has been able to get out of Showtime regarding the final six is as follows: The final six might be aired in January 2004. Yes, that’s right, 2004. Showtime may also air them at another time, but will not say when or whether they intend to do this at the end of another rerun of the 13 episodes or just throw the final six out there at some random point (more political nastiness). For those of you who continue to worship at the alter of Showtime, you will be delighted to know that Sony did work diligently to put a two-hour movie together so that fans of the series would not be left hanging with the season ender that knocked the socks off everyone who saw it, and you can thank Showtime, in its typical lack of appreciation for its own viewers, for nixing this altogether. This action, however, may be a mixed blessing if the series is able to make its way to DVD, an option favored by many, many Odyssey 5 fans everywhere

Top DVD, at last, finally got to see the show from start to end. What an ending, why do they also cancel the best ones
